Review
Cover I’m still a big fan of the black and white cover with a hint of color. After reading the story, I think it’s fitting. Sutton got some color back in her life.
Plot After the ending of The Wright Love, I couldn’t get my hands on this book fast enough. The bomb that dropped left me wondering how all of the secrets would be put into play. David had a big secret, but I never expected that he did it to hurt the Wright family. This book is definitely more about David and what he went through with his family and coming to terms with that. I have to say his story was heartbreaking as well. There was still a lot of “will they – won’t they”, but I understand. Sutton lost a lot and really needd to be sure of moving on. It needed to be on her terms and when she was ready. That may seem selfish at times, but after what she went through she got a pass from me. Once again, the whole Wright family was a part of this book and I have to stick by me saying I wouldn’t mind having these people as a family. They may be overprotective and have their own issues, but it’s a family full of love. I’m very sad that this is the last book with this family. K.A. Linde made me love them all.
Characters David seems like a strong man without a care in the world, a real tough guy who only wants to see Sutton happy. This book showed us a complete other side of David. How much hurt he actually experienced, how confused he was when he found out his family wasn’t what he thought they were. On top of that finding out your parents were hiding a secret from you since you were little. I can’t say I blame David for wanting to change everything and start over where no one knew who he was. After all of your family betrays you, how can you let them back in? After reading this I think David is incredibly strong and while he should’ve shared his secret, it’s understandable that it wasn’t easy for him. He had to deal with a lot and didn’t make his decisions lightly. David isn’t a bad guy, but a loving person who tries to follow his heart.
Sutton is still learning to deal with the loss of her husband and finding out David’s secret hurt her a lot. She finally started letting her walls down and felt betrayed. I was happy to see that her family was able to convince her to think about it and hear David out. Emotions can be intense, especially when you’re still figuring out how to move on. Sutton seemed to finally find stuff for her, working in the bakery and taking back some freedom. She’s a wonderful mother for her son and is trying to figure it out as she goes. I can’t imagine how hard it is to open up your heart again after experiencing that kind of loss. Sutton is a brave character in my eyes. Someone who definitely deserves all the love in the world.

K.A. Linde is an author I highly recommend! The Wright family has their ups and downs, but are a lot of fun to read about. I’m happy there are still quite a few books for me to read by her.
