Review| Stolen Heir – Sophie Lark

After reading Brutal Prince in just about one sitting I had to continue with this series. Stolen Heir is the next book in Brutal Birthright and at first I didn’t think I was going to love it as much, but I was so wrong. I didn’t even realize this was a Beauty and the Beast retelling until I finished the book. So keep on reading to find out more about this book and what I thought!

They Murdered My Father, So I Stole Their Daughter…

She’s my captive, my little ballerina who dances only for me.

Nessa is sweet and innocent. She doesn’t deserve any of this. But that’s how our world works – the wolves eat the lambs, no matter how gentle they may be.

I’ll use her to get my revenge. Unless I give in to my hunger first…

“Stolen Heir” is the dark and gothic second act of the “Brutal Birthright” series. It’s a stand-alone Enemies to Lovers Romance, complete with HEA and no cliffhangers. It contains blazing hot bedroom scenes for mature readers only!!!

Review

Stolen Heir starts off pretty intense. Miko suffers a tragic loss and that basically shapes the rest of his life. He becomes a cold person and doesn’t seem to feel a thing, except for the need of revenge. Nessa couldn’t be more different. She may be the daughter of a powerful mafia family, but they’ve kept her out of the family business and she is pretty innocent.

Events from the previous book lead to Miko kidnapping Nessa. Let’s just say at that point I honestly didn’t expect to see them grow closer or for Miko to feel anything at all. That had me sad at first, because I loved Brutal Prince so much. About a third of the way in that changed. Nessa is a feisty one and was definitely more clever than Miko could ever have realized. Miko saw his sister in Nessa and that definitely created a soft spot he didn’t think he had inside him. They got really close and the attraction and tension between them jumped off of the pages. Both of them fought it, but eventually they gave in! It was worth the wait.

This book had some twists and turns I didn’t expect at all. Also, just when I thought we were safe the author hit us with a moment that had me reading until I knew things would be okay. Add an amazing cast of side characters and this book gave me everything I need. I could keep talking about this book, but I really just think if you’re a fan of mafia romance that you should pick this one up.

Miko and Nessa are characters I won’t forget about soon! I already have the next book, Savage Lover, on my Kindle ready to read. Have you read a book recently that you just couldn’t put down? Let me know in the comments!
