Show Sunday | Favorite Shows of 2022

Of course I had to do a favorite shows of 2022 post. While I also haven’t watched that many shows compared to previous years, I do think I have more than enough to write this post haha. I will only include shows that have had a season this year. And like we did we our favorite books, I’m going to narrow it down to my top 10. It’s going to be hard, but I can do it haha. Let’s jump in!

10. First Kill

I really liked the short story this was based on. There aren’t a lot of anthologies I read, but I did like Vampires Never Get Old (for the most part at least). And V.E. Schwab’s story was definitely one I liked. So it was amazing when it got made into a tv show. I really enjoyed First Kill on Netflix and it was watched a lot I believe. Unfortunately it didn’t get picked up for a second season.

9. The Lincoln Lawyer

I adored this show! The movie was great, but the show was even better. I liked the characters, the actors did a great job and the plot was good as well. There will be a second season, they started filming at the end of 2022. I’m super excited for it and I might just pick up the books this show was based on to tie me over.

8. Never Have I Ever

It took me awhile but I finally watched the third season of Never Have I Ever at the end of 2022. I really like this show, even though our main character can make all the wrong decisions over and over again. This third season you can really see the character development and I can’t wait for the next season.

7. Dead To Me

I have cried so hard during the final season! This show is amazing, it is a lot different from anything I was expecting when I first started watching it but I just couldn’t stop. And I binged this final season as well. Even though I didn’t want it to end, I just couldn’t pace myself. The friendship at the centre of the show is simply a work of art.

6. The Recruit

I really enjoy Noah’s acting so when he shared his newest show The Recruit on instagram I decided to take a look. And I was not expecting to find a show I loved so much. This was a great ‘spy’ show, it had a great storyline, it was funny and I binged it in no time. There better be a second season!

5. Heartstopper

As a big fan of the Heartstopper graphic novels I couldn’t wait for the Netflix show. And I was not disappointed! This was done so well and I loved it a lot. There are so many moments that are straight from the graphic novels and it was perfect. I can’t wait for the next season.

4. Black Bird

Another show I started because of an actor haha. I really enjoy Taron Egerton’s work and that meant I wanted to watch Black Bird. Wow! This was incredible. The acting was all mind blowing. This story is pretty horrifying but at the same time it was so well done. I would recommend it to everyone!

3. Only Murders In The Building

This was one of my favorites last year as well haha. This second season did not disappoint! Like I said last year, this show has a vibe that is hard to explain. I love the murder podcast aspect (obviously) but I think the dynamic between the main characters is what makes this such a great show. If you haven’t watched this yet, I would highly, highly recommend it!

2. Wednesday

This is probably one of the most talked about shows lately. And it’s in my top 3 as well haha. I adored this show so much! The Adams Family has always been fun but I wasn’t a big fan of it. It was just something that was there. However, now…. There will be a second season and I just can’t wait for it. This was pretty much perfection, the story, the characters, the soundtrack, everything!

1. Criminal Minds: Evolution

There was no way this wasn’t going to be my number one pick. I have watched Criminal Minds for years and have always loved it. It was a very sad day when it was announced that it was going to end and I just had to live with rewatching it. But then there was news of a bit of a renewal! And in November we got it. There will be a new episode every week, there is currently a mid season break that is killing me. This season there is an season long plot with a very interesting serial killer, who we get to see a little bit of every week as well. It’s just so cool. I love seeing my favorite characters and I hope it won’t be just this season.

And those were my favorite 2022 tv shows! Did I miss any good ones? What do you think of my picks? Let me know in the comments!

  1. So many great shows amongst these ones and I agree with you if it has a great actor I will watch it haha. Really enjoyed Wednesday, Only Murders in the Building (hoping Theo will join the gang more since Mable learned sign language) but my favorite of these must be Heartstopper 😀

  2. Love this! I watched and loved so many of these last year, too–especially Wednesday. I can’t wait to watch the new Criminal Minds–waiting until it’s all released though!
