September is right around the corner and that normally means a month that is packed with new book releases. It’s like that every year! So we tend to have quite a list when it comes to our most anticipated September releases. What September releases are on our radar? Keep on reading to find out!

72 Hours of You – Darianne Schramm (September 1st)

All I know is I have a feeling that 72 Hours of You is going to make me cry. Our main character can tell when someone has less than 72 hours to live. That sounds like a curse.

The Knave and the Moon – Rachel Gillig (September 1st)

The Knight and the Moth took the bookish world by storm when it released and I think a lot of us are anxiously awaiting the sequel. I’m excited to see how Rachel Gillig wraps up this one.

Our Strange Duet – Erin A. Craig (September 1st)

This is a Phantom of the Opera reimagining, and since that is one of my favorite musicals I’m obviously interested in this one. It sounds like it’s the same premise, so I’m curious what new angle this book will bring.

Bones – K.L. Speer (September 1st)

I don’t even know how to describe this haha, it’s a post-apocalyptic romantasy and I guess it’s one of those books where you just have to go in blind. Although you should be warned, there are content warnings as it has dark themes.

Kneel Before Me – Lindsay Straube (September 1st)

After loving Kiss of the Basilisk, I know I need this prequel story without even reading the second book in this series. Yes, that book was a lot of spice, but there was a lot more plot and world building than I expected. So I can’t say no to more in this world.

Divine Oaths – Elizabeth Agyemang (September 1st)

A fantasy dark academia story always interests me! Our MC has the ability to see lifelines and witness other people’s pasts and futures and that sounds so intriguing to me. I can’t wait to see that play out.

Taipei Story – R.F. Kuang (September 8th)

So far I’ve enjoyed all of R.F. Kuang’s books and of course I’m interested in this one. I think this is going to have a very different vibe from her previous books and I’m curious to see how that will work out. As someone who has lived abroad, I’m intrigued if this will be relatable for me.

Tempest – Victoria Aveyard (September 8th)

I’m so excited for this one! I have been following Victoria’s progress via TikTok and it was so exciting seeing her process. A fantasy about a pirate queen, I just know I’m going to love this one a lot.

Love Felt Like This – Julie Olivia (September 8th)

I’m always here for small town romances and Love Felt Like This feels like something right up my alley. Especially when we get a grumpy sunshine romance. A grumpy rockstar and someone who creates children’s shows.

The Exorcism of Faeries – J.L. Vampa (September 8th)

I know that The Exorcism of Faeries is a book that was self-published, but has now been picked up to be traditionally published. This is a dark academia romance and I’ve seen some amazing reviews about it. I’m going into this one blind.

This Changes Everything – Danielle McKechnie (September 8th)

This Changes Everything is definitely one that caught my eye when I saw the cover. I’m not 100% sure if this is my story because our main character is caught between choosing one of her two leading men. I tend to get annoyed by love triangles, so I’ll have to see how this goes.

Grim Tidings – B.K. Borison (September 15th)

Of course I need the sequel to Good Spirits! I’m someone who loves everything Christmas or holiday related. In Grim Tidings we get a runaway grim reaper who tries to save a life. I also love that the grim reaper is a woman.

The Emperor’s Enemy – Jasmine Mas (September 15th)

I already liked the title, then the synopsis said true enemies to lovers and I couldn’t be more excited. This is what the readers want! I truly hope this lives up to my expectations haha.

If Not You – Ellen O’Clover (September 15th)

If Not You seems to be a rivals to lovers, forced proximity romance. Our two main characters are copy writers and I love characters that work with stories/books. I have a feeling these two being stuck together will give us quite the interesting journey.

The Wretched Divine – Adalyn Grace (September 22nd)

A human, an angel and a demon, what more can you want? Apparently it’s not clear yet if this will be a love triangle or a why choose and that makes me really curious haha.

The Sweetest Fiend – Raven Kennedy (September 22nd)

This is a Pied Piper reimagining with enemies to lovers, explicit scenes, amazing banter according to early reviews and an interesting sounding world.

Kiss of the Black Flame – Helen Scheuerer (September 22nd)

Our MC is a bookbinder and that alone has me curious about this book! She also has chronic pain, and I unfortunately can relate to that. This is the first book in a new fantasy trilogy and it sounds intriguing.

Trust Fall – Lynn Painter (September 29th)

If Lynn Painter writes it, I have to read it! Also, the cover of Trust Fall screams autumn read. I’ll be honest, I don’t really know the plot of this one, but I never need to with this author, haha.

Threshing Day – Rebecca Yarros (September 29th)

I already wrote a Can’t Wait Wednesday post about this one so you already know how excited I am. A book with 13 Threshing Day stories about characters we know and love, sign me up! Although I’m afraid we will be getting a Liam story and we will be crying over it.

Trad Wife – Sarah Langan (September 29th)

Trad Wife isn’t the kind of book I’d normally pick up, but after reading Yesteryear this one caught my eye. I love seeing how authors look at the trad wife ways of life and how they use it in stories. So I’m curious to see if I’ll enjoy this horror story.

The Velvet Knife – Maureen Johnson (September 29th)

The Truly Devious series is one I’ve loved since I read the first book. The Velvet Knife is book six and I honestly wasn’t expecting to get more, so this was a pleasant surprise. Stevie is now traveling to New York to solve a murder! It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
