WWW Wednesday #113

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Us Against You – Fredrik Backman

It took me almost three years, but I finally finished the sequel to Beartown. What I love about Fredrik Backman’s writing is that he really pulls you into this small town and makes you feel all of the emotions. Even though this book has quite a few POVs, this story pulls everything together and they all matter. I need to order the third and final book!

Star Shipped – Cat Sebastian

I was so excited about Star Shipped! A romance between two stars in a popular sci-fi show? Yes, please! Except I didn’t feel the romance at all. There was no chemistry or tension. Someone on Goodreads said it felt like more of a character study of one of the main characters and I have to agree! We don’t really even get any of the show. I was really disappointed.

What are you currently reading?

Tropesick – Lauren Okie

At the moment I’m about 75% through Tropesick and I’m having a great time! Our two main characters knew each other and didn’t part in the best of ways and are now ghost-writing a book together. The tropes they’re adding to their book also seem to be happening in their lives. I love some magical realism in my romances.

In Every Possible Way – Alicia Thompson

The start of this book actually had me laughing out loud because the first date our main character goes on is awful. I’m so grateful I was already in my current relationship when dating apps happened, haha. Things are getting interesting though because she just woke up in Ireland and doesn’t know how she got there. I can’t wait to read more!

What do you think you’ll read next?

Light Wielder – Rachel Schneider

Metal Slinger was one of my favorite reads in 2024, so I’m sure you know that I’ve been anxiously awaiting this release. Unfortunately, my physical copy still hasn’t arrived, but I can’t wait. So I’ll be reading Light Wielder on my Kindle. I have no clue how things are going to play out after the ending of the first book.

Beneath – Ariel Sullivan

After loving Conform I’ve been wanting to make time to read the start of the prequel series. So many people love Conform, but people seem to love Beneath even more! I’m loving dystopian romances lately, so I feel like it’s a great place to continue.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
