Wrap Up | February 2026

Yesterday we talked about the books we added to our collections in February. Today we want to tell you about what we read. Did we find any new favorite books? Keep on reading our February wrap up to find out!

Candyce

In February I ended up reading 25 books (8 paperbacks, 4 eARCs, 4 audiobooks, 3 hardcovers, 3 manga, 2 Kindle Unlimited, and 1 eBook). My average rating was a 4.1 and I read 9,026 pages. Let’s see what I read!

The Society for Soulless Girls – Laura Steven

Ever since I loved The Exact Opposite of Okay, I’ve been reading all of the books Laura Steven writes. Unfortunately, none of them have lived up to that book yet. Except for Our Infinite Fates. The Society of Soulless Girls just wanted to do too much? The atmosphere was amazing, but the story didn’t have me hooked.

Gild & Glint – Raven Kennedy

It’s my year of reading more series, so I did a reread of Gild. That book held up for me and I actually forgot about a few twists. Glint was a book I devoured and the world and characters keep me wanting more. There were definitely some things I wasn’t expecting and I’m excited to see how this series continues.

Tough Guy – Rachel Reid

Ryan and Fabian’s romance was a lot of fun, but in all honesty, Fabian annoyed me a lot near the end of this book! I really wanted the grand gesture to be from him. I still had a great time, but this book was my least favorite of the series.

Common Goal – Rachel Reid

This is our first age gap romance in the series and starts off as friends with benefits. Eric just got divorced and wants to explore his sexuality, but he’s never been with a man. Enter Kyle, who isn’t looking for a relationship. Things change! I wanted them to just sit down and talk so many times, but I love how the story ended.

Role Model – Rachel Reid

Role Model has become my favorite book in the Game Changers series so far. Troy didn’t leave his old team on the best of terms and isn’t exactly out to the world. So he’s not planning on being on social media or start a new relationship. Meeting Harris really changes his look on things and getting to know him starts breaking down Troy’s walls. I teared up reading Role Model and I loved every second of this book.

Scythe – Neal Shusterman

Scythe was my in person book club read for February. I read this book 8 years ago, so I needed a refresher to finally continue the series. This story held up for me and really makes me wonder why I never continued the series.

This Book Made Me Think of You – Libby Page

As a big fan of P.S. I Love You and Pack Up the Moon, I needed to read This Book Made Me Think of You. Our main character loses her husband and after his death, she gets a year of books. Each one helps her heal just a little bit more. I teared up multiple times reading this and it’s one I’ll think about often.

Coldwire – Chloe Gong

Science fiction isn’t my go to genre, but I loved Coldwire. The concept of living in a virtual world or in a world that isn’t the best place to be anymore was really interesting. Our two main characters are both on a mission and things really aren’t what they seem. I never would’ve guessed how this book would end. What a wild ride!

The Poet Empress – Shen Tao

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book with poetry magic. While we didn’t get too much information about the magic itself, this story was truly amazing. The characters are flawed and have to face the consequences when they make certain decisions. Shen Tao gives us back story and really created an interesting world. I couldn’t put this book down.

Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl – Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

After loving their Christmas Notch series, I was so excited that these two authors decided to write more together. Fundamental of Being a Good Girl is fun, spicy, heart-warming, and even emotional. Both characters are trying to navigate their lives and do something for themselves. I loved the cameo of characters from their previous series.

A Condition Called Love Vol. 11 – Megumi Morino

I’m still loving the A Condition Called Love series. I can’t tell you a lot about volume 11, but the story is still pulling me in. We’re really getting to know our characters better and I’m invested.

Cat + Gamer Vol. 8 – Wataru Nadatani

Even though I’m not a gamer, I’ve loved this slice of life manga. The little bonus scenes from the cats’ POV were so much fun. These volumes always leave a smile on my face and as a cat owner many aspects are relatable. I’m still really sad this was the final volume in this series.

The Moon on a Rainy Night Vol. 1 – Kuzushiro

One manga series was completed, so I had to add a new one. I saw The Moon on a Rainy Night while watching a booktube video and it caught my eye. Our main characters are a girl who lost a lot of her hearing after an accident and an aspiring musician who start going to high school together. I know after volume 1 that I want to binge this series.

Daughter of No Worlds – Carissa Broadbent

I’ve been wanting to read this series for so long! Daughter of No Worlds is a good start to the series. The pacing was a bit slow, but I enjoyed the characters and what we’ve learned about the world so far. It’s clear that we’re going to get a romance, but I love that it doesn’t take over the story. There were some twists near the end that have me curious about the next two books.

Overtake – S.J. Sylvis

As a reader who love sports romances, I haven’t read many F1 romances. Overtake was such a good time and I loved seeing a woman having a lead position in this world. The family aspect is so much fun. Especially the group chat with all of the siblings. My only issue was that the pacing near the end went really quick. I’m excited for the next book in the series.

Here for the Cake – Jennifer Millikin

If I see fake dating in a synopsis, I need it in my life! I can’t imagine having to be in the wedding party when the bride is marrying your ex. Even more so when the bride is your sister! So I couldn’t blame the main character for wanting a date at this destination wedding. There is quite a bit of drama, but the fake relationship was amazing in this story. Klein was such a caring MMC and this book could’ve been a lot longer in my opinion, haha.

Playing with Forever – Rebecca Jenshak

Rebecca Jenshak has written a few adult sports romances that I’ve loved, so I decided to read her newest YA release. The tutor/athlete trope is a lot of fun and I love when the characters realize that the other isn’t like they thought at all. The high school bucket list was a fun touch and I had a great time with Playing with Forever.

Superfan – Jenny Tinghui Zhang

We all know that fandoms are good in many ways, but that they can get a bit dark. Superfan definitely was a good example for that. I appreciated getting the fan’s and artist’s POV. That being said, I didn’t feel invested. The writing also made the story feel a bit younger than I think the author wanted.

Adrift – Will Dean

Adrift was marketed as an edge of your seat thriller and the cover made me think that as well. Yes, this story is very dark and does keep you at the edge of your seat. Except this didn’t feel like a thriller at all. I think I would’ve appreciated this one more if it was pitched differently.

Margin of Error – Rachel Lacey

I love stories when we have characters who are a bit older and discovering themselves. Both of our main characters are in their 40s and after a really intense prologue, I was here for it. I enjoyed seeing Marin take control of her life and Charlotte open herself up to new possibilities. Margin of Error did try doing too much and I feel like some aspects were just a bit too cliché and weren’t necessary for this story.

Rules for Fake Girlfriends – Raegan Revord

Another story with fake dating and that’s something I’ll never get tired of. As well as a story of a girl who is trying to discover the scavenger hunt that her mother had seemed to leave behind for her. This was an emotional story that kind of tried doing too much at once as well. There was also quite a bit of miscommunication, but I expect that a little bit more in YA books, haha.

Fan Favorite – Adrienne Gunn

I love the idea of books where our main characters go on some type of reality TV. Fan Favorite didn’t work for me though. I just didn’t care? Also, why would you ever go on a TV show to win back an ex? This was multiple POV, but the changes were quite abrupt and made it hard to keep track of at times.

Same Time Next Summer – Annabel Monaghan

Annabel Monaghan has written a few books that I’ve enjoyed. Same Time Next Summer was okay, but not my favorite. I feel like I would’ve appreciated this second chance romance if our main character wasn’t in a different relationship for most of the story.

What If I Never Get Over You – Paige Toon

What If I Never Got Over You started off really strong for me. I love the idea of having an instant connection with someone and eventually finding your way back to the other. Except when they finally do find each other it left me wanting more. So much miscommunication that I just wasn’t loving the last part of this story.

Isabelle

Rereading is what gets me through the day (and the night to be honest), otherwise it’s just a chapter here and there. So I did read 6 books this month, double what I did in January! Hopefully I can continue that and actually finish some of the books I have started….

All for the Game 1-4 – Nora Sakavic

I couldn’t sleep so I picked an audiobook and that happened to be the All for the Game series. This is a definite favourite of mine and I can’t wait for the fifth audiobook and the release of book 6! I love these characters and somehow this story became such a comfort story to me.

The Hero of Ages – Brandon Sanderson

I finally finished the Mistborn trilogy! The first Mistborn book was a buddy read with Candyce years and years ago, but last month I finally finished the third book. This is an amazing series and I’m excited to read the next book in Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere universe.

Daisy Jones and the Six – Taylor Jenkins Reid

Another comfort read! I love this story, I love the way it’s told and I love the audiobook narration. As soon as I finished it I started listening to the songs on Spotify and I want to rewatch the show as well. The only thing I dislike it that they changed the song titles between the book and the show haha.

That was our February wrap up! How was your February reading? Did you find any new favorites? Or have you read any of these books? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
