Tuesday Candyce shared her 2025 Reading Goals Wrap Up and today it’s my turn. My goals were pretty similar to the 2024 Reading Goals I set and I did really well on those. So the big question is, did I manage to reach all my goals this year? Let’s take a look!

Goodreads Challenge
52 books

We’re off to a good start! I ended up reading 66 books in 2025. That was less than in 2024, but with the busy year I had, I would say that was still pretty good. And the goal was 52, so I did achieve that at least. One book a week was doable, although I would’ve liked to finish a book every single week instead of 4 one week and then none for 3 weeks straight haha.

I started the year with a ratio of 39%, I knew getting it to 50% would be extremely difficult and I was right. My ratio actually dropped to 38% haha. I wanted to review at least 12 books, that was about half of what I needed to get my ratio to 50%. Unfortunately I only reviewed 2… I guess let’s try again in 2026?

Backlist Books
12 books

I expected to do pretty good on this one to be honest, but I only managed to read 6 books I already had on my TBR. While I did read a lot of books, there were a ton of rereads. More than half of the books I read were rereads (36 to be precise). I’ll have to think of a way to increase the number of backlist books I read in the coming year.

Big Books
12 big books

I have been reading a lot of big books, mostly because my favorites that I keep on rereading are big haha. This year I also hoped to read at least 6 ‘new’ big books and I did exactly that! I also read 3 that were over 480 (one was 496!) so those were very close to being big books haha. Counting my big rereads I’m well over 12 books, so I’m really happy with this goal! Thanks to audiobooks this isn’t as hard as it used to be anymore.

Finish Series
6 series

Another one of my goals that I keep on failing. Last year I actually managed to reach this goal for the first time ever. I was so proud! This year is a totally different story… I only finished 1 series. There are 4 series I got caught up on and I’m close to finishing one or two more. But I once again failed at this goal. Since I did read some older series, I hope to start finishing some of them in 2026.

That was my reading goal update of 2025! It wasn’t as good as it was in 2025 as I only reached 2 goals haha. But I’m still not too mad. With the year I had I think I did pretty well.
