Bookish Item| Goodreads Choice Awards 2025: Romance TBR

I recently did a post with my young adult TBR after looking at the Goodreads Choice Awards nominees for this year. Romance is my most read genre, so of course I had to take a look at this category as well! I’ve read 8 of the 20 nominees, so there’s still enough for me to read. Let’s make a little TBR!

Say You’ll Remember Me – Abby Jimenez

Abby Jimenez is an author I picked up for the first time a couple of years ago and I’ve devoured her releases since then. Just for the Summer is one of my favorite books. So I’m honestly surprised I haven’t read Say You’ll Remember Me yet. Part of me is saving it because I know it’s going to be good. I guess the other part of me is also saving it because I’m afraid of possible sad moments with animals?

Story of My Life – Lucy Score

Lucy Score has quite the backlist and I’m still working on that. Story of My Life is her newest release and one I really want to read. I love small town romances and this author is really good at banter! It’s over 500 pages, but I seem to be loving big books lately.

If It Makes You Happy – Julie Olivia

This is actually a book I wanted to read last year when it was still self-published. If It Makes You Happy was picked up by Bloom Books and has been everywhere! I know this takes place in the 90s and fans of Gilmore Girls love this apparently. I’ll be surprised if this isn’t a five star read for me.

Great Big Beautiful Life – Emily Henry

Emily Henry is one of my autobuy authors and Great Big Beautiful Life is one of my most anticipated releases of 2025. I guess that’s why I haven’t read it yet? There have been quite a few mixed reviews about Great Big Beautiful Life and that has me nervous. I do really want to read this one soon.

Problematic Summer Romance – Ali Hazelwood

I read Not in Love at the beginning of this year and thought that Maya and Conor were interesting characters. Age gap romances aren’t something I read often, but Problematic Summer Romance caught my attention. I’ve loved all of Ali Hazelwood’s books so far, so I think I’ll love this one soon.

So here are five of the romance nominees in the Goodreads Choice Awards this year I hope to read soon. Have you read any of these? Or what was your favorite on this list of nominees? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
