Another month is over and before we talk about what we read in October, we need to talk about our bookhaul. What books were added to our shelves last month? Keep reading to see those books!
Candyce
In October I added 13 books to my shelves. There are quite a few anticipated releases and reads in this haul! So I’m expecting to be reading quite a few of these in the near future.

Alchemised – SenLinYu
Everyone in the bookish world has heard about Alchemised or has at least seen it somewhere I think, haha. I will say that I truly love the Fairyloot edition of this very big book. A friend and I are buddyreading this and it may take some time, but it definitely has me invested.

Never Ever After – Sue Lynn Tan
Another stunning edition done by Fairyloot and I’m glad I have it on my shelves. I’m always excited for Cinderella inspired retellings. This will be my first book by this author, but I’ve heard amazing things about her books.

Metal Slinger – Rachel Schneider
So I already read Metal Slinger when it was indie published. It was a five star read for me and I still think about that ending very often. I don’t love the cover redesign on this, but the rest of the edition is truly stunning. Metal Slinger is a book I definitely need to reread, because I want to see if anything changed when it traditionally published.

Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal – Meghan Quinn
My favorite time of year is around the corner, so I need all of the Christmas romances. Meghan Quinn is one of my go to authors and I’m very excited about this book. I still need to read How My Neighbor Stole Christmas, but I’ll be doing that very soon.

Fake Skating – Lynn Painter
Lynn Painter is one of my favorite authors and Fake Skating is her newest YA release. It has fake dating and that’s all I really needed to know.

Reckless Roses – Sarah A. Bailey
Friends of mine love this series, so I had to start collecting the first editions of the traditionally published books. I love the sprayed edges. I still need to read the first two books and I hope to before the year is over.

Chasing the Wild – Elliott Rose
I feel like so many indie authors are being traditionally published and it’s amazing! It’s not so amazing for my bank account, because they’re all getting gorgeous first prints. Chasing Wild is a cowboy romance and I can never have enough of those.

Mate – Ali Hazelwood
Ali Hazelwood is another author I’ll read everything by. Bride was a great start to writing paranormal romances and I’m so excited we get a companion novel in the same world. Also, a perfect read for spooky season.

Sawyer – Jessica Peterson
As I just said, I can never have enough cowboy romances and the Lucky River Ranch series is another one I’m collecting. I loved Cash, so as soon as I saw that the rest of the series was getting traditionally published, I knew I needed to keep collecting them.

Power Play – Chelsea Curto
Face Off is one of my favorite sports romances of the year, so I needed to get the next book in the series. I was going to add this to my Christmas wishlist but I couldn’t wait to read Power Play.

In the Dark – Chelsea Curto
I loved a holiday romance and a hockey romance by Chelsea Curto, so why not a haunted house romance? This alternative cover is everything and I’m already reading this one. It’s amazing so far.

Good Spirits – B.K. Borison
Another holiday romance I needed to add to my collection. In Good Spirits our main character is going to fall in love with Ghost of Christmas Past. I feel like that’s going to be great for this holiday season.

Burning Daylight – Emily McIntire
A Romeo an Juliet inspired story? I think that’s something right up my alley. I know a few of my friends love everything by this author and I have yet to read a book by her. I have a feeling Burning Daylight is going to be a great place to start.
Isabelle
This October I did get a couple of physical books, four to be exact. And I also got some audiobooks, I have been rereading some series and as you might know audiobooks are the way to go for me.
Witch Hat Atelier 5 & 6 – Kamome Shirahama
This is one of the prettiest manga I ever read and I’m really happy to be continuing with the series. It’s been a while since I read the first 4 books in this series, but I’m so glad to be back with it. I love a good manga series and I’m always on the lookout for more.
Spy x Family 6 & 7 – Tatsuya Endo
This is the other manga series I’m currently reading. It’s such a fun one and I’m really happy with these new volumes. I got all of these at a big bookshop when they had a sale on English books. As a Dutchie I love a good sale, so I was very happy haha.
Audible

Alchemised – SenLinYu
I really loved Manacled, so I was very intrigued by this adaptation. And I figured the audiobook might be a good way to get through this big book. Although I have been debating on getting one of those floppy paperbacks!

Crescent City 1 & 2 (Graphic Audio) – Sarah J. Maas
After finishing the Throne of Glass reread (again) I was feeling the Crescent City series as a next reread. I do blame TikTok haha, after another good video I just had to go back to this series. And I got some extra credits to get the Graphic Audio versions of the audiobooks. I absolutely love these versions of any audiobook I’ve heard so far and these haven’t disappoint me yet <3.
So that’s our October bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or what did you add to your shelves that you’re excited about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
