Last month I did another Try A Chapter: Netgalley Edition and I really enjoyed it. It brought some eARC’s back to my attention that I now plan on reading soon. So I figured I would go ahead and do another one. Let’s jump in!

The Code for Love and Heartbreak – Jillian Cantor

I read the first chapter without reading the synopsis and didn’t realise this was a YA story. Maybe I could’ve guessed based on the cover, but I guess I wasn’t paying attention. I’m not really reading YA anymore, however I was pleasantly surprised by the end of the first chapter. Without looking at the synopsis I have some ideas of where the story might go and it definitely has potential!

Smash It! – Francina Simone

Another YA one, and with this one I wasn’t impressed by the first chapter. The voice of the MC doesn’t come across as a teenager to me and I was a bit annoyed by her inner dialogue. I don’t think this one is for me unfortunately.

Kingdom of the Wicked – Kerri Maniscalco

YA seems to be the overall theme today! But this one is a fantasy and I believe it has a murder mystery as well. Those are 2 things I love! The prologue already had me hooked and the first chapter was solid as well. This is for sure a book I want to keep on reading!

I never expected to want to read 2 YA books before starting this tag! Two of the books managed to surprise and intrigue me. Have you read any of these? Which one do you think I’ll enjoy? Let me know down below!
