Bookhaul | September 2025

How is another month of the year already over? We sound like broken records, but the year is going by quickly. The first of the month means it’s time to talk about the books we added to our shelves in the month of September. Let’s see what our bookhaul looks like this month!

Candyce

I added 12 books to my shelves in September. I can say I’ve already read a few of these and I’m almost done with a couple as well. It was a good bookish month for me. I also read more physical books this month than I added to my collection, so I can’t complain about that. Let’s take a look at what I got.

Warrior Princess Assassin – Brigid Kemmerer

Warrior Princess Assassin is August’s romantasy book and it’s funny, because I also have an eARC of this one. This book caught my eye because from what I understand this is a why choose romance? I’m very curious about that.

Katabasis – R.F. Kuang

R.F. Kuang is an amazing author and I was curious about Katabasis since she announced this book. Two rival graduate students go to hell together to try and save their professor’s soul. I’ve already read this one and I can say I’ve never read a book like this before.

Immortal Consequences – I.V. Marie

A book that takes place at a boarding school and is going to have some kind of trials? Yes, please! I do not need to know more before sitting down and curling up with this book.

Leave Me Behind – K.M. Moronova

Leave Me Behind was an indie published book that Bloom picked up and published in September. This deluxe edition is stunning and I keep hearing so many amazing things about this book. All I know is that this is a dark military romance.

Fairydale – Veronica Lancet

Fairydale is a big book! I do have the feeling this is one you love or hate! It’s pitched as a dark gothic historical romance with horror, paranormal & fantasy elements. That’s quite an interesting combination. I hope to read this one on a dark and rainy day.

Endless Anger – Sav R. Miller

A dark and twisted contemporary romance inspired by the Greek Furies? That sounds very interesting! Endless Anger is a spin off series, so I may just have to read the original series first.

Wild Card – Elsie Silver

Wild Card is the final book in the Rose Hill series and I’m sad. I’ve loved every single book in this series and Elsie Silver really has become a favorite author of mine. Even though I don’t want this series to be over, I am curious to see what Elsie writes next.

If It Makes You Happy – Julie Olivia

The cover of this one has all of the autumn vibes I’m looking for! If It Makes You Happy was a self published book and the Berkley picked it up. I never got around to reading it beforehand, but it’s time now. I believe this book takes place in the 90s and I love the thought of that.

Uncharmed – Lucy Jane Woods

I haven’t read Rewitched yet as I’m typing this, but I hope that will be a different story once this bookhaul comes online. The cover of Uncharmed is another stunning cover that looks so cozy. These are the kind of books I love this time of year. The weather is cooling down, so I’ll be embracing all of the cozy things.

Afterlove – Tanya Byrne

When I visited an English bookstore that opened a couple of month ago, I picked up a few blind date with a book books while there. Unfortunately, I had two out of the three books, but Afterlove was the book I didn’t own. I remember seeing this one around when it released and I feel like it’s a good book to read this time of year.

Anathema – Keri Lake

After reading Nocticadia, I knew I needed to read more by Keri Lake. Bloom Books decided to publish Anathema traditionally and this edition is stunning. This is a dark gothic fantasy and it seems like the perfect autumn read.

You’re Next – Tate James

The third and final book in the Devil’s Backbone trilogy are now out in the world. I had to get the deluxe first edition to complete my collection. Now that this series is complete, I can start reading it. Tate James is the Queen of cliffhangers, so I decided to wait before reading these.

Isabelle

I didn’t get any new physical books this month, but I did get one new audiobook through Audible. With work being busy and a bit stressful, I am surviving on audiobooks haha. So let’s see which one I got this month.

Audible

Jade Legacy – Fonda Lee

After finishing Jade War I immediately had to get the next book in the series. I really enjoyed the first two books in the Green Bone Saga and I can’t wait to find out how it will all end. This series has taken some turns I never saw coming and I’m really scared for my favorite characters. Hopefully I will listen to this one soon!

So that’s another bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or what book did you get in September that you’re really excited about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
