TTT #398 | Books with a High Page Count

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books Guaranteed to Put an End to Your Book Slump, but I’m really not feeling this one to be honest. I don’t even remember which books got me out of reading slumps, so I’m taking a head start on next week’s topic; Books with a High Page Count. That is a topic I can do for sure! I decided to go with books on my TBR, so let’s jump in!

1. The Wise Man’s Fear – Patrick Rothfuss
1107 pages

I read the first book in this series years ago and only got through it because of a buddyread haha. While I did end up enjoying the first book, it was an intimidating read for sure. Since the third book has no release date and everyone’s been waiting since 2011 I decided to wait before I read this second book.

2. The Way of King’s – Brandon Sanderson
1008 pages

This is one of many Brandon Sanderson books I own, it’s the biggest one I have on my TBR. But I do have a couple I have to read before I can dive into this one. Talking about these books makes me so excited to dive back into this universe and I might have to make that into one of my reading goals.

3. The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon
848 pages

I’ll admit I recently tried to get into this one with an audiobook, but I just couldn’t pay attention. According to a couple of friends of mine this is an amazing read and I badly want to have read it. However, I don’t know when I’ll be able to actually do so.

4. Empire of the Vampire – Jay Kristoff
725 pages

After finishing the Nevernight series I had planned on reading this one, but somehow I never started it. Possibly because it’s such a big book haha. Since the final book in the series is being released this November I might have to jump into these the coming months.

5. The Night Circus – Erin Morgenstern
656 pages

This is an older book, but it still gets mentioned allll the time. It’s another one I would love to have read haha. I do think this book sounds like one I would really enjoy and I would love to find out if that’s actually the case.

6. The Pariah – Anthony Ryan
600 pages

.This is not a book I hear readers talk about ever, but it has really good reviews. I got this one from my brother for Christmas a couple of years ago and I feel so bad for not having read it yet. Looking at the synopsis and reviews reminded me why I wanted to read this book. It sounds so good!!

7. A Discovery of Witches – Deborah Harkness
592 pages

This is another intimidating book, but a friend of mine absolutely loved it and I really wanted to watch the tv show. I will admit I started watching the show already and liked it a lot. Knowing the characters might make it easier to read this one, so I hope to do so soonish.

8. Quests for Glory – Soman Chainani
576 pages

I loved the original trilogy in this series so much, The School for Good and Evil is truly wonderful. As soon as I got this first book in the next trilogy I was excited to dive in, but somehow I never did. Hearing Soman Chainani talk about this world and the books on his podcast Plottwist with Victoria Aveyard I wanted to dive back in right away.

9. Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
536 pages

After finally finishing the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series I wanted to dive into this one. However, it’s been a year already and I haven’t even tried getting to this one (oops). This does still have a really good rating and I hope I will love it as much as everyone else has.

10. The City of Brass – S.A. Chakraborty
532 pages

I’m still waiting for the sequel to the Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi, but I guess that waiting time is the perfect opportunity to dive into this older fantasy series that sounds so cool. It’s another one I have heard so many great things about and I can’t wait to read it!

A week early but these were 10 books with a big page count (on my TBR). It’s always fun looking at my TBR in a new way and I’m really excited about picking up a couple of these books soon. Do you have read one of these books? And did you enjoy the read? Let me know down below!

  1. Books with high page counts can be a little intimidating to me, but when they’re done well they’re so memorable!
