We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is a freebie/throwback, so I decided to go with Candyce’s topic from last week; most anticipated books releasing in the second half of 2025. I don’t have as many books as I usually do, so I hope to make a top 10 list. There will be a couple of books on this list that Candyce had on hers as well. Let’s jump in!

1. Rose in Chains – Julie Soto (July 3rd)
This is a fanfic turned traditionally published book. I haven’t read The Auction yet, but I do really want to read it before getting to this one. For a while now I have heard great things about this story and I’m so curious.

2. Not Quite Dead Yet – Holly Jackson (July 22nd)
I really liked the Holly Jackson books I’ve read so far, so of course I’m excited for this newest release. This is Holly’s adult debut and it’s about a woman trying to solve her own murder. I can’t wait to find out how that will work!

3. Arcana Academy – Elise Kova (July 22nd)
I have an eARC of this one and I already talked about it. We get some things I really love; tarot cards, a fake engagement and a thief going to a mysterious academy. Sign me up!

4. Silvercloak – L.K. Stevem (July 29th)
I’m actually already reading this one as I have an eARC haha. Laura Steven is an amazing author and I loved everything I’ve read so far. This has enemies to lovers, a cool magic system and a magical mob. I’m loving it so far!

5. Accomplice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer (August 5th)
I know, I haven’t read the second book yet. But since the third book will be released soon, I hope to read book 2 this summer and be ready right on time! I read the first book last summer and I’m really excited to continue with the series.

6. We Are All Guilty Here – Karin Slaughter (August 12th)
Karin Slaughter is my favorite mystery/thriller writer and I can’t wait for her newest release. This will also be a new series and I’m excited to meet the new characters. As long as there will also be another book in her Will Trent series haha.

7. Once a Villain – Vanessa Len (August 19th)
I already read this one, I had an eARC and this was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. The first 2 books in the series were amazing and I was so excited to see if everything would get resolved. I really enjoyed this one!

8. Katabasis – R.F. Kuang (August 26th)
The R.F. Kuang books I’ve read so far have been amazing reads and I’m excited for this newest release. Academic rivals to lovers who travel to Hell? What more can a girl ask for in a book?

9. The Executioners Three – Susan Dennard (August 26th)
A mystery with a centuries old curse? Written by the author of the amazing Witchlands series? You already know I’m interested! The early reviews are really positive and I can’t wait to get my hands on this one.

10. Alchemised – SenLinYu (September 23rd)
Another fanfic turned traditionally published book. I loved Manacled, so I’m really excited about this release. This looks to be around 1000 pages, so it will be biiiiiiig. I’m already intimidated haha, but I can’t wait to discover this story in a new world.
And those were 10 of my most anticipated book releases for the second half of the year. Are you excited for these releases? Did I miss any good ones? Let me know down below!

Katabasis sure sounds interesting.
I’m looking forward to reading Apprentice to the Villain.
