Last week I started watching Rizzoli & Isles. I’m currently watching season 3 and of course I wanted to share my thoughts with you all! So let’s dive in!

Boston’s assertive detective Jane Rizzoli and steady medical examiner Maura Isles are hailing from very different economic backgrounds, but the strong, competent women effectively work together to solve the city’s most puzzling crimes.

The series is concluded, there are 7 seasons with a variation between 10 and 18 episodes in each season. Rizzoli & Isles first aired in 2011 and ended in 2016.

I started watching this show on Wednesday and I’m already at season 3. This is a very addictive and fun crime show! The first episode pulled me in right away, they had an exciting and thrilling case that made me feel for the characters. And of course I wanted more right away. I love a good detective series and I love that we get to see both the detectives and the medical examiner at work.

The heart of the show is for sure the relationship between Jane and Maura. They are best friends and complete opposites. I love their friendship, although it has some issues for sure. Dr. Maura Isles seems like she could be neurodivergent and for the most part Jane accepts and loves her the way she is. But every now and then Jane makes some rude comments that show this TV show is 15 years old, because I really hope that they would’ve written the episodes differently today. Not just because of Jane’s comments towards Maura, but a lot of comments in general are not okay. I just wanted to mention it, it does annoy me but not enough to stop watching the show.

There are some really interesting cases in the show and I have shed a couple of tears haha. Maura is my favorite character by far and I wish nothing but the best for her. I’m really excited to see where the show is going in regards to the personal lives of these characters. Since I’m going back to work tomorrow, it will probably take me a but longer to finish the rest of the show but give me a week or 2 and I’m sure I’ll be close to finishing it haha.
