We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
The past week has mostly been about family. I took my time to rest and spend a lot of time with my family. Around Christmas I stayed at my parents’ house for a couple of days and had a great time. It was really nice being together (and not having to think about what to cook for myself haha). I also went to dinner with some friends, did a pub quiz with my bestie and practiced for the Dutch speed puzzling championship. Overall it has been a great week!
I have gotten one new eARC; Breath of the Dragon by Fonda Lee and Shannon Lee. It sounds like a wonderful read and I’m excited to dive in.
I’m still reading The Reckoning but I have also finished a couple of other books in the mean time. Somehow I ended up rereading the All for the Game series again and I read When the Moon Hatched. I just started Spellslinger as my current audiobook.
I’m trying to get up to date with the FBI series, I’m mostly focusing on the original FBI but I’ve also started FBI International. It’s very enjoyable so I might be fully caught up by the end of this holiday.
This time of year there is only one thing to listen to in the Netherlands; Top2000. People vote for their all time favourite songs and they get ranked into the Top 2000. They are non stop played from Christmas right up until New Year’s Eve. It’s a very diverse list and I love listening to it.
And that was my Royal Update for the week. Not super exciting but I enjoyed resting and spending time with family. How was your week? Let me know down below!
