Can’t Wait Wednesday | The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association – Caitlin Rozakis

We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.

Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

Two mundane parents and their recently-bitten-werewolf daughter they try to fit into a privileged society of magic aristocracy. But deadly terrors await them – ancient prophecies, remorseless magical trials, hidden conspiracies and the PTA bake sale. Big Little Lies goes to magic school, perfect for fans of T. Kingfisher, Olivia Atwater and Heather Fawcett. When Vivian’s kindergartner, Aria, gets bitten by a werewolf, she is rapidly inducted into the hidden community of magical schools. Reeling from their sudden cross-country move, Vivian finds herself having to pick the right sacrificial dagger for Aria, keep stocked up on chew toys and play PTA politics with sirens and chthonic nymphs and people who literally can set her hair on fire. As Vivian reels from hellhounds in the school corridors and demons at the talent show, she races to keep up with all the arcane secrets of her new society – shops only accessible by magic portal, the brutal Trials to enter high school, and the eternal inferno that is the parents’ WhatsApp group. And looming over everything is a prophecy of doom that sounds suspiciously like it’s about Aria. Vivian might be facing the end of days, just as soon as she can get her daughter dressed and out of the door…

Yes I definitely first added this book because of the title haha. I mean, can you blame me? This is such a fun title. I also really like the cover, so I was interested right away. Luckily, the synopsis also sounded interesting. Having a secret, magical society with special school already sounds great. But getting to know that world through a mom with a recently bitten by a werewolf daughter? Couldn’t be better! I love the sound of the synopsis and really hope the book will live up to its potential. There are hardly any review yet, so I can’t say too much yet but I will keep an eye out! Had you heard of this book yet? Are you adding it to your wishlist? Let me know down below!
