Royal Update #253

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

There have been some fun things happening the last few weeks. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a couple of friends. It was filled with lots of food and laughter. On Thursday we got our Christmas tree and decorated it. This really is my favorite time of year. On Saturday we went to the boyfriend’s parents’ house to celebrate his mother’s 60th birthday. Other than that I’ve been working, reading, and watching a lot of Christmas movies.

I haven’t been good to my Netgalley feedback ratio since my last Royal Update. I’ve added four more eARCs to my Kindle: The Staircase in the Woods, This Book Will Bury Me, Kill Creatures, and It’s a Love Story.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: A Grim Reaper’s Guide to Catching a Killer, Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands, A Curse for True Love, Wild Love, I Was a Teenage Slasher, Merry Kissmas, A Festive Feud, Love You a Latke, Under Loch and Key, Powerless, The Fake Santa Apology Tour, and Merry Ever After.

I’m currently reading: Booked for the Holidays, He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, and Claus and Effect.

Next I’ll be reading: The Colour of Magic, Reckless, and When the Moon Hatched.

It was recently Black Friday and I decided to spoil myself a bit. I have a Kindle Oasis, but it’s been really acting up on me lately. It’ll be dead two days after I charged it, and I didn’t even use it. So I decided to take advantage of the deals and buy myself a new Kindle Paperwhite. Next year I really want to keep up with eARCs and even read more from Kindle Unlimited, so this was a good purchase.

Last week for our weekly movie night, we watched The Replacements. It’s an older movie, but it was one I had never seen. I enjoyed it!

It’s not Christmas yet, so I’m still all things Christmas. This week I’ve been listening to Pentatonix a bit more.

So that’s my Royal Update for this week! How have you been? Read or watch anything amazing? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
