We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is ten favorite books from ten series. It’s true that we all tend to have a favorite book in a series, and that’s what we’re talking about today. Let’s talk about ten of my favorites.
Empire of Storms – Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass is one of my favorite series. I love all of the books, but Empire Storms has to be my favorite. This book is so emotional, intense, and one I just couldn’t put down. Sarah J Maas really knew how to really hurt her readers’ feelings with everything that happens, haha.
Delilah Green Doesn’t Care – Ashley Herring Blake
The Bright Falls trilogy is one I wish had more than three books! I loved all three, but Delilah Green Doesn’t Care is definitely my favorite. Delilah Green has the perfect mix of romance, friendship, and family. It really hits in all the feels.
What I Need – J. Daniels
The Alabama Summer series is one of the first romance series that I read. I loved all of the books in this world, but Riley and CJ’s book stole my heart the most. I even have a sweatshirt based on this book. This is a series I need to reread soon!
Spoiler Alert – Olivia Dade
I’m not sure if it’s a trend, but this is the second time I choose the first book of an interconnected series as my favorite. There’s just something special about romances and about books where characters have their own fandoms. Our main character is a fan fiction author and I loved it. I’ve already read Spoiler Alert twice.
Truly Devious – Maureen Johnson
Even though I rated book two and three higher than book one, Truly Devious is still my favorite. Truly Devious introduced me to this world and mystery setting. This first piece of the puzzle set us up for the rest of the series and it’s one I’ll definitely keep revisiting.
Cress – Marissa Meyer
The Lunar Chronicles was my first introduction to retellings and I loved them all. Cress ended up being my favorite. She’s a quirky and funny character with a big heart. I can’t believe it’s been eight years since I read this series.
A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J. Maas
ACOTAR is another series I’ve loved and is special to me, and I loved all of the books. I think A Court of Mist and Fury is my favorite though. The first book introduces us to the world, and I didn’t love all of the choices in the third, but this one really lets us get to know the characters more.
Illuminae – Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff
The Illuminae Files is told through in very unique ways. We get interviews, other transcripts, pictures, and also pages that are black with spiraling text. All three of these books are amazing, but I think I love Illuminae the most. I’ve heard great things about the audiobooks, so I’d say I need to do a reread while listening along.
Lord of Shadows – Cassandra Clare
I really enjoy readings book that take place in the Shadowhunter world and The Dark Artifices is one of my favorite series in this world. All of the books were amazing, but Lord of Shadows really kept me on the edge of my seat. This one also hit me in all the feels and that ending wasn’t one I saw coming.
The Score – Elle Kennedy
Off-Campus was my first sports romance series and all of the books left me with a smile on my face. The Score is my favorite. Dean and Ali really made this book and I loved that he wasn’t about relationships until Ali just wanted to be friends. If you love sports romances, I definitely suggest this one.
So here are ten favorites of mine in ten series! I have to say writing this post has me wanting to reread every single one of these series! Do we have any favorites in common? Or what are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
The Truly Devious series is really good. I am interested in the Delilah Green series!
Lord of Shadows was amazing
We have a few authors and series in common, but different books (and different series in one case).
