I recentely borrowed a non-fiction book from a friend and even though it’s the genre I normally gravitate to I do want to read it! After listening to the podcast Sounds Like a Cult, which is hosted by Amanda Montell, I really want to read more of her non-fiction books as well. So I thought I would be fun to share with you all the first couple of non-fiction books I hope to pick up!
The Age of Magical Overthinking – Amanda Montell
Like I said, I have been listening to Amanda Montell’s podcast Sounds Like a Cult. And I own her book Wordslut, one I hope to continue reading soon. I would also like to read her book Cultish but the one I would love to get to first is her newest release The Age of Magical Overthinking. This sounds like a super interesting topic, and one I expect to relate to, so I hope the book is as good and interesting as I think it will be.
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson
This is the book I’ve borrowed and it’s one I have been hoping to read for a while now! It’s also one another friend told me I could use haha. I’m excited to try out this book and I hope to click with the writing style. Because I think that’s what makes or breaks a non-fiction book for me a lot of the times.
The Anthropocence Reviewed – John Green
And lastly, I would love to try out this one! It’s sounds super interesting and I like that it’s told in shorter essays. I hope that makes it a bit easier to read, I could potentially read it one essay at a time. That might make it a quicker read and overall more enjoyable. I like that this is about a lot of different topics, but all about the current geological age and the human-centered planet. The reviews are really positive and the more I look, the more excited I get!
These are a couple of non-fiction books I hope to read soon. Have you read any of these? Or do you have any recommendations for non-fiction books you think I’ll like? Let me know in the comments!
Love this post!! I really need to read more nonfiction. The last one I read was Radium Girls which was very interesting. It’s not a genre I reach for a ton, but I need to.
