What inspired you to write Of Fire & Fae series?
I wanted to write a book that had more family in it, and more family conflicts, and then, since I was writing about family, I decided to use some inspiration from telenovelas, since they usually tackle multiple generations.
What has been your favorite part of your publishing journey so far?
Receiving positive words about my books.
How was writing Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic different than writing book one?
This time, I had to wrap up the story, not create it, but I had to focus and make sure no ends were loose.
If you were a character in Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic, what kind of character would you be?
I would like to be a deathbringer.
What is your favorite quote from Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic?
It’s not the full quote, but, “What was the point of … clutching old wounds as if they were diamonds?”
What do you hope readers take away after reading this book?
The importance of family.
Could you give us 5 random facts about Iron Hearts and Dragon Magic (think the story, writing, publishing, anything that comes to mind)?
The print book has 508 pages.
I had to brainstorm it with writer friends.
I ordered the cover illustration before writing it.
This book has scenes on the beach and seaside.
Cousins are important in this book.

About the Author

I’m originally from Brazil but I’ve been living in Canada for over 10 years now. I have some influence from Brazilian writers and Brazilian culture, but I also read popular books in English. I watched some Anime as a kid, my favorite being Yamato.
I’ve always loved to write stories, and I like to always include romance, action and humor in my writing. I think stories can touch us deeply. I live in Montreal, Canada, with my son.
My books include the Ya fantasy series Kingdom of Curses and Shadows, Portals to Whyland, and the sci-fi standalones The Sphere of Infinity and Star Spark.
