It’s the last Wednesday of the month, so it’s time to look at the books we’re looking forward to that are releasing next month. October tends to be a busy release month, so this may be painful for our wallets, haha. Keep on reading to find out what are most anticipated October releases are!
The First to Die at the End – Adam Silvera (October 4th)
I loved They Both Die at the End, even though it broke my heart. So of course I want to read the prequel as well. This one is going to hurt so bad! But I am going in anyways haha. Hopefully we’ll get some answers as to how Death Cast works, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we won’t.
Blitz – Daniel O’Malley (October 4th)
This is the third book in the Checquy Files series, book one was the Rook and was also turned into a tv show. I still need to read book 2 but I was very excited to see there was going to be a book 3 as well. So this is the perfect time to dive back into the series haha.
The Christmas Clash – Suzanne Park (October 4th)
All I really needed to see was Christmas in the title and I already wanted this book. The Christmas Clash has two enemies coming together to help their families. Hopefully a little Christmas magic brings them closer together as well.
Just Like Magic – Sarah Hogle (October 4th)
Part of me is kind of on the fence about Just Like Magic. I tried reading You Deserve Each Other by this author and it didn’t really work for me. That being said this book sounds like just what I love during the holidays. I’m a big fan of the stories of the characters who are a bit selfish or self-centered learn their lesson. If we add a little holiday spirit to that, I’m happy!
Saga vol. 10 – Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples (October 5th)
This amazing comic series is finally starting again! The authors took some time off but they are back. I can’t wait to learn what happens next with these wonderful characters. The first 9 volumes are very well loved, and rightly so. Hopefully this new one will be just as good.
Dark Room Etiquette – Robin Roe (October 11th)
I read A List of Cages by this author a few years ago. It wasn’t an easy book to read, but it was so good!! Dark Room Etiquette is about a boy that’s kidnapped and told the life as he knows it is based on a lie. This is going to be a dark book, but I’m so intrigued. It’s over 500 pages, so it’s quite the book.
Mistakes Were Made – Meryl Wilsner (October 11th)
Mistakes Were Made is a book that’s been on my radar for quite some time and I’m so excited that release day is almost here. I have an e-arc I’ll be reading soon, but I’ll be glad to get the physical copy as well. I don’t think I’ve ever read a story where the main character accidentally sleeps with her best friend’s mother. That has to be awkward!
The Whispering Dark – Kelly Andrew (October 18th)
This debut is marketed as The Raven Boys meets Ninth House and I’m excited. It has dark academia vibes, rivals to lovers and a very interesting sounding magical element. Most early reviews are very positive.
A Cosmic Kind of Love – Samantha Young (October 18th)
I mostly want to read this book for the fact that our main character just starts sending emails and video diaries to a discontinued email address. She never expects them to be seen, but they get forwarded. I can’t wait to see how this will all play out!
Sign Here – Claudia Lux (October 25th)
I wrote a Can’t Wait Wednesday post about this one last week actually! This book sounds like it might be hilarious with also a great story. I think I sounds like it will be right up my alley and I truly hope it won’t disappoint!
So those are the books releasing in October that we’re really excited about. What releases are on your radar? Did we miss any books we really need to know about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
I’ve got The Christmas Clash from Netgalley, haven’t read much but so far I love it! The Whispering Dark is on my wishlist too 🙂
The whispering dark is a title I’m looking forward as well!
A Cosmic Kind of Love sounds interesting!
