We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
Since my last Royal Update not much has really happened. Work has been busy now that people are slowly going on vacation and our schedule isn’t always ideal. I don’t have time off until September, so here’s hoping it goes by fast, haha.
We’ve also been busy trying to get our cats to like each other again. Something spooked them earlier this week and one attacked the other. Since then it’s been nothing but hissing and growling, so we have to separate them and slowly introduce them to each other again. It’s been a tiring and stressful few days. The vet thinks we should be back to normal in a week, so fingers crossed that actually happens!
I’ve added a few e-arcs to my Kindle since my last Royal Update.
Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: Ugly Truths, The Dead Romantics, Book Lovers, Nyxia, Heartstopper Vol. 4, Along for the Ride, The Accidental Newlywed Game, Island Time, The Sizzle Paradox, and Queen Me.
I’m currently reading: The It Girl, Nyxia Unleashed, and It Happened One Summer.
This week I plan on reading: Queerly Beloved, The Godparent Trap, Broken Boys Can’t Love, and Hook, Line & Sinker.
Between work being really busy and everything with out little furry ones I didn’t really pay attention to bookish news. I promise I will for my next Royal Update.
I have nothing to share for my shop log this week. I know it’s pretty boring, haha.
As I’ve said before we have a family movie night ever Sunday and our last two choices were Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Man vs. Bee. Doctor Strange was very dark, but mixed with plenty of humor. It was a really good movie. We thought Man vs. Bee was a movie, but it ended up being 9 episodes that were about 10 minutes long. It was hilarious and over the top, but that made it so much fun.
While we’ve been dealing with the cats, sleep hasn’t been as easy, so I’ve been watching comfort shows. Well I watched the first three episodes of Heartstopper. I love this show and I’m sad I only have five more episodes before I have to wait for the next season. I started watching Alexa & Katie quite some time ago, but was still on the second season. I’ve finished that now and I’m working on season three. Definitely a good comfort show to watch when you’re tired.
Taylor Swift is an author I listened to a lot, but for some reason that stopped. After hearing one of her newer songs in a TV show I decided to listen to her newer albums. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Spotify won’t let me copy the link to show you the playlist here, but I’ve been listening to folklore and evermore.
So that’s my Royal Update for this week. How have you been? Have you read, seen, or listened to anything you think everyone needs to know about? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
I’m excited to get my hands on the 4th Heartstopper…and also I really need to watch the show!
