We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
A dark and funny YA thriller with a supernatural twist. From the winner of the Comedy Women in Print Prize
Ten years ago, four students lost their lives in the infamous North Tower murders at the elite Carvell College of Arts, forcing Carvell to close its doors.
Now Carvell is reopening, and fearless student Lottie is determined to find out what really happened. But when her roommate, Alice, stumbles upon a sinister soul-splitting ritual hidden in Carvell’s haunted library, the North Tower claims another victim.
Can Lottie uncover the truth before the North Tower strikes again? Can Alice reverse the ritual before her monstrous alter ego consumes her? And can they stop flirting for literally fifteen seconds in order to do this?
Exploring possession and ambition, lust and bloodlust, femininity and violence, The Society of Soulless Girls is perfect for fans of Ace of Spaces, The Secret History and The Inheritance Games.
I love Laura Steven and I will add everything she writes haha. This time she wrote a book under L.K. Steven and it sounds amazing. It has a lot of elements I adore and combine that with Laura’s writing style, I have high hopes! She described it herself with these:
🥀 f/f enemies to lovers
🌲 Northumberland in the 90s
🔮 sinister rituals
🖤 slow burn romance
🩸 all-girl fight club
🌞 grump/sunshine
🛏 there’s only one bed
🔪 hurt/comfort
I am VERY excited! The fact that the synopsis says it’s for fans of Ace of Spades and The Inheritance Games only adds to that excitement. I loved loved loved both of those books so if The Society for Soulless Girls has the same feeling to it, I’m sure this will be a 5 star read.
Did you have this book on your radar? And have you read anything by Laura Steven before? I hope you’ll add all of her books to your TBR right away!
Added this to my TBR!
I like the cover and the setting sounds great. I hope you enjoy it when you get a chance to read it!
