Royal Update #96

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

As I said in my last Royal Update the boyfriend and I were going away for four days with two friends of ours. We had a really good time. The weather wasn’t that great, but we had fun playing games, reading, and we went out to dinner two times. Sleeping there wasn’t that great though. The bed we had was crooked. Our heads were lower than our feet, so we ended up sleeping at the foot end, haha. Other than that it was a fun time with friends.

This past week we kind of needed to recuperate from our time away, haha. I got a lot of reading done and we went shopping at a mall that opened here a few months ago. The kitties also went for their yearly check up and vaccines. Thankfully they’re both healthy. They do need to have their teeth cleaned, so we will be bringing them back this week for that. They’re not going to like us!

In the past two weeks I’ve added 8 ARCs to my Kindle from Netgalley.

Since my last Royal Update I finished: The Matzah Ball, The Magic of Christmas Tree Farm, The Girls are Never Gone, The Vanishing Stair, Under the Whispering Door, The Love Hypothesis, The Ex Hex, and The Hand on the Wall.

I’m currently reading Payback’s a Witch, My Contrary Mary, and The Holiday Swap.

This week I’ll be reading The Winter of the Witch, Murder Most Actual, I’m Dreaming of a Wyatt Christmas, and A Study in Charlotte.

I’ve been saying this the past few times, but I really need to start keeping better track of bookish news again, haha. I had most of my blogging done, so I haven’t really been on the laptop a lot. More luck next time? Haha.

This is the first time in quite some time that I actually bought something to share in this shop log. The boyfriend and I went to a shopping mall last week and I went to Bath & Body Works and got a scented candle. I love all of the autumn scents and this sweet cinnamon pumpkin smells amazing!

During our four days away I didn’t watch anything at all. This past week home I’ve mostly spent watching some Christmas movies (yes, I know it’s still October when I’m writing this). And as I’m typing this I watched It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. I’ve watched it every year since I was little and it’s a family tradition.

A few new albums came out the past couple of weeks. I really haven’t been listening to much music while on vacation, but I did listen to the new Pentatonix Christmas album this weekend.

The last two weeks have been good ones and I know this week is going to be tiring after not working for three weeks. How have you been? Do anything fun? Read anything good? Let me know in the comments!
