Royal Update #61

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

We got snow! That’s pretty rare in the Netherlands, especially snow that sticks around for a week haha. It’s supposed to go away today, but as I’m writing this, there’s still snow everywhere. While it looks gorgeous, when you have a horse, snow is no fun haha. It’s hard to give them their exercise, their water supply might freeze, they get cold and so on. Luckily we managed to get everything done every day and I’m glad to be back to normal soon haha.

I also started my new internship. Today is supposed to be my first full day, but we have code red today so I’m not sure if I made it there haha. When you’re reading this, I’m either at my internship or I’m still at home. We will see! I’m also working on a couple of assignments before my deadline next week so I’m a little bit stressed. Hopefully I can hand them in soon.

The only new eARC I got was Bridge of Souls by V.E. Schwab and I already read it haha. I couldn’t not read it right away and you can expect a review soon!

I’m finally getting back into my reading groove and I’ve read a lot recently. Since my last update I finished Letters to the Lost, Check Please vol 1 & 2, Across the Green Grass Fields, The Good Girls, Monstress vol. 3, Whites: On Race and other Falsehoods, The House in the Cerulean Sea, First Place Witch, Bridge of Souls and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. And there were a couple of 5 stars in there! You can expect reviews for most of these soon.

Next I will be reading This Is How You Lose the Time War, The Merciful Crow and I’m thinking of picking up another unread V.E. Schwab book after loving her two latest books. I also have to pick my next eARC, I think I want to continue reading the Damned.

I have a couple of exciting cover reveals for you, let’s take a look!

We’re still in lockdown and I didn’t order anything online. So no shopping for me. But I have to say I came really close to order a gorgeous bookish box haha. For now I stayed strong ;).

I have been watching a lot shows! Of course I’m watching all my weekly shows, like Prodigal Son, the 9-1-1’s, Nancy Drew etc. But I’m also finally catching up on some other shows. I watched the whole first season of Snowpiercer, I watched Chicago PD up until one of the crossovers with all three show, and I’m also watching Chicago Fire up until that point. After that I want to catch up on Chicago MED so I can watch the crossover and hopefully fully catch up on those three shows.

I recently discovered a book podcast and I’m really enjoying it. It’s Southern Gal Reads and I love her voice so much. Weezie talks about books she read and books she wants to read and I just really like listening to her. I still have a couple of episodes to go, but I’ll get to them soon.

And that was my life these past couple of weeks. Have you done anything interesting? And have you been watching any good shows? Let me know in the comments!
