Wishlist Wednesday | Christmas Wishlist 2020 #1

With only a couple weeks left until Christmas we thought it’d be fun to share some of our wishlists for this holiday. Instead of participating in the bigger Christmas swap we normally do, we decided to just stick to making Christmas boxes for each other. If you want to know what we added to our wishlists, keep on reading!

Candyce

I think it’s funny. When I don’t have to make wishlists I can give you a list of books I’d love to have on my shelves. If I have to write a wishlist, that’s a different story! In the end I was able to think of some books for this list.

The Midnight Library – Matt Haig

The Midnight Library is a book that went under my radar, but I’ve been seeing it around a lot lately. Having books exist of your life as it is, but also of your life if you have made different choices. I don’t know if I’d want to read the other books. Would you? So I definitely want to read this one.

The Priory of the Orange Tree – Samantha Shannon

I’ve actually wanted to read this one since I heard about it. The Priory of the Orange Tree is a huge book (over 800 pages) and I’ve heard quite a lot of good things about it. So maybe it’s time to finally add this one to my collection.

Courting Darkness – Robin LaFevers

I have to say this is one I definitely noticed because of the cover! Historical fiction is something I’ve been enjoying more lately and Counting Darkness sounds really interesting. I have a feeling I won’t be able to put this one down.

Spellbreaker – Charlie N. Holmberg

Magic in books is something that I love reading about it. Especially when unlicensed magic using is illegal. I think Spellbreaker is going to be an interesting adventure. Also, the sequel releases in March, so I won’t have to wait long to continue.

The Traitor Queen – Danielle L. Jensen

A friend of mine is a big fan of Danielle L. Jensen and I finally sat down and tried The Bridge Kingdom. I really enjoyed this story and loved the characters. The Traitor Queen is the second book and I need to know how this adventure continues!

The Good Girls – Claire Eliza Bartlett

Just like reading more historical fiction, I’ve also started loving mysteries and thrillers. I love trying to figure out who is behind everything and with three best friends being the suspects, it’s going to be an interesting ride.

Pet – Akwaeke Emezi

After reading the summary of Pet, I honestly don’t know what to expect from this story, but it sounds really good. Also, look at this amazing cover. Pet has gotten some amazing reviews and I definitely want to read it.

The Extraordinaries – T.J. Klune

I recently read The House in the Cerulean Sea and LOVED it. The Extraordinaries is a book I have an e-arc of, but if it’s just as good as the book I just read than I know I want a physical copy as well. I have a feeling TJ Klune is going to be an auto-buy author.

Among the Beasts & Briars – Ashley Poston

Ashley Poston isn’t a new to me author, but I’ve only read a contemporary book written by her. Among the Beasts & Briars sounds amazing and look at this stunning cover!! This is one that can’t be missing on my shelf.

The Ten Thousand Doors of January – Alix E. Harrow

The Ten Thousand Doors of January is another book I have an e-arc of, but still haven’t read yet. I’ve heard such amazing things about this book and the story still sounds amazing! And another stunning cover!

Isabelle

Like Candyce I always have trouble making a wishlist haha. Luckily I still had part of my wishlist from when Candyce and I bought each other gifts for our blog birthday. So I removed the book she gotten me and added a couple more! Let’s take a look.

Wicked Saints & Ruthless Gods – Emily A. Duncan

I got eARC’s for both of these and I loved them a lot. They were amazing and very dark reads and I would just love to add them to my shelves. In the coming year we get the last book in the trilogy and wouldn’t they look gorgeous together on my shelves?

Killing November & Hunting November – Adriana Mather

I borrowed Killing November from Candyce and loved it more than I was expecting. The sequel was one of my most anticipated releases this year and I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet. I would love to have both of these on my shelves.

The Future of Another Timeline – Annalee Newitz

I loved the other time travel book I read ‘recently’. This one sounds truly amazing as well! I really enjoy reading books regarding time travel and can’t wait to read more of them. At this moment I have a couple unread on my shelves but I can always use more haha.

The Inheritance Games – Jennifer Lynn Barnes

This is another one I already read because of an eARC. But since I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes so so much I would love to add this one to my shelves. I really need to get more of her books because most I read as ebooks.

Fruits Basket Collectors Edition vol 3 – Natsuki Takaya

I really enjoyed the first 2 double volumes I read in the Fruits Basket series. And I would love to continue the series. The tv show is super cute as well but I’m waiting to continue watching it until I’ve read more volumes.

Monstress vol. 4: The Chosen – Marjorie Lu & Sana Takeda

I love this graphic novel series! It’s one of the most intricate I’ve ever read and I still have one volume to go. But it would be great to have the next one ready as well. Since there is so much going on in the series it good to binge it a bit!

Before the Devil Breaks You – Libba Bray

I loved the first book in this series so much and I have the second one ready to read. As with Monstress it would be great to have the sequel ready to go. There have been a ton of cover changes with this series so book 3 & 4 won’t match the first two books I have but at least I only have two different types of covers.

The Dragon Republic – R.F. Kuang

Another one I have as an eARC. I haven’t actually read this one yet but I do really want to. And pretty soon since the last book is out as well. Candyce and I met the author and she is so kind.

The Damned – Renee Ahdieh

There seems to be a theme going on here haha. I’m currently reading my eARC of this one. The first book I also read as an eARC but I already own the gorgeous, signed hardcover of that one. And I would love to get this one as well.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab

And lastly the newest book by one of my very favorite authors ever. Victoria is one of the best humans out there and I could listen to her talk forever. I actually also have an eARC of this one haha. But I need it on my shelves anyways.

So that’s what’s on our wishlist for Christmas. Have you read any of these books? We’d love to hear your thoughts! Also, if you celebrate, what book do you hope to receive this holiday season?
