We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
My life is very boring at the moment, haha. I don’t really have any new updates. I’ve basically been working and staying in my own little bubble. I am really proud of the fact that I’ve been keeping up with working ahead on blog posts. I haven’t had to write a post the night before in quite some time. It’s definitely a nice feeling.
This week I have the whole week off of work and I really hope to spend a lot of time blogging and reading. I’ve been in a bit of a slump, so I’m hoping this relaxing week will let me get back into the groove of things.
Since my last royal update, I did receive a few ARCs for a couple of tours coming up in December!
A Wolf for a Spell – Karah Sutton This is a Baba Yaga retelling. I’m not familiar with this tale, but A Wolf for a Spell sounds like an interesting story. I’ve been enjoying middle grade books, so I’m excited to read this one.
The Ballad of Ami Miles – Kristi Dallas Alley This is a dystopian that sounds like it’s going to take us on an interesting adventure. I haven’t read a lot of dystopians lately and this sounds good.
The Bitterwine Oath – Hannah West Every fifty years a cult kills twelve men. Our main character is going to try and figure out the mystery behind this ritual. I think this is going to be a darker story, but definitely an interesting one.
Also, Edelweiss isn’t a platform I’ve been really successful on and never expect much from. Except last week I got an email that I got an arc. That was a pleasant surprise, because this was one I got rejected for on Netgalley.
Sixteen Scandals – Sophie Jordan We don’t learn much in the synopsis, but it’s being pitched as a book for fans of My Lady Jane. I loved that book and the other two in the trilogy, so I’m excited about this one. Sixteen Scandals releases in May, so I have awhile to read it!
Since my last royal update I read The Night Swim, Sirens of Los Angeles, You Say it First, Vampires in Moscow, Over the Woodward Wall, Wicked Things #3 and The Earth, My Butt and Other Big Round Things.
I’m currently reading The Dire King, Kingsbane, Little Monsters, Shadows of Winterspell, Born at Dawn and Today Tonight Tomorrow.
This week I plan on starting Spoiler Alert, Snowman, A Wright Christmas and The Boy, The Wolf and the Stars.
There were a lot of cover reveals and such this past week, but the site we use to add pictures to the blog is down (as you can probably tell if some of the images in this post still don’t work), so I’m going to skip the bookish news this week.
Nothing to talk about in my shop log this week. I can say though that the headphones I talked about last time work so well. I’m very happy with them!
Besides watching a ton of Christmas movies, my boyfriend and I have started watching Everwood together. I loved this show and watched it faithfully every week when it was airing. I also own all four seasons on DVD. He watched it as well, but doesn’t think he saw all of the last season, so a perfect reason to re-watch a favorite!
If you’ve been following us, you know I’m a big fan of Home Free. Their new Christmas album just released and I’ve been listening to that. As you can tell, I’m definitely in the holiday spirit, haha.
So that’s my royal update for you this week! How have you been? Read anything lately that you think I need to read? Let me know in the comments. I love hearing from you!
