We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
Like probably everyone else I’ve been watching a LOT of news this past week. Every morning the first thing I’d do is check for any news from the States. Since I live in the Netherlands a lot of the important news happens during the night so I had to get an update in the morning haha. I was super impatient but I’m very happy with the election results. Of course this is only when the real work begins but I think this is a great first step!
Here in the Netherlands the Cover-19 cases are coming in faster again so a lot is being closed back up. I went to the zoo again just for one last time until they open up again. Since we can’t really do that much I’ve been working a bit more haha, that way I have some money to spent when we can go out ;). I also had a friend over on Saturday and we ordered from my favorite restaurant, it felt really good to support them and the food was great! During this dinner the election results become official so I had some wine to celebrate 😉
I’m pretty proud to say I haven’t gotten any new arc’s. It’s about time I make a dent in my ARC-TBR and it’s taking me wayyyy to long. Hopefully I can actually read some more of them in the coming month!
I finished The Haunting of Tram Car 015, you can expect a review next week! After that I also finished Buffy the Vampire Slayer vol 2 and Jughead the Hunger vol 1. And I did a buddyread with Candyce, we picked The Lovely and the Lost and I LOVED it!
At the moment I’m reading Good Girl, Bad Blood, also a buddyread with Candyce haha. And I’m reading Vampires Never Get Old. To be honest I don’t know which books I’ll pick up next, I’m just picking something that peaks my interest at the time.
The trailer for the tv show of Bridgerton, based on the books by Julia Quinn, released last week! It looks super good and I’m beyond excited. I know what I’ll be doing during my Christmas break haha.
There was also a new book deal announced that made me very happy! Kara McDowell’s newest book sounds awesome, I loved her first book Just for Clicks and I can’t wait to read One Way or Another.
I have been shopping for Christmas presents already! And I already ordered something for Candyce but of course I can’t share that here yet haha ;). You will find out in a couple of weeks though!
At the moment I’m rewatching Veronica Mars while listening to the podcast Veronica Mars Investigated. It’s so much fun watching this show again and listening to other people analysing it. I’ve also watched The Duchess, what a hilarious show! And I’ve seen the movie Holidate, can anyone get me a holidate please?! Lastly, I’m still on my rewatch of the Vampire Diaries and I actually forgot a lot!
There is this Dutch tv show where a couple of really good Dutch singers come together and sing song for each other. They usually pick songs of the singer that is the point of attention that week and try to make it their own. It’s a great tv show and they do amazing things with those songs. Last week was the last episode of this season and I’ve been listening to the songs non-stop.
And that was all I had to say about this past week! Did you do anything fun? And what are you reading at the moment? Tell me about it in the comments!
Such a great idea to do this post!
I live in India and we followed the US election updates closely as well.
I’ve been wanting to watch Holidate for a while. Sounds like you enjoyed it.
I read The Tokyo Bicycle Bakery by Su Young Lee last week and it was quite different from the usual romances I’ve read. The cover and title of this book don’t prepare you for what lies within.
