Royal Update #41

We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

This past week we’ve gotten some warm weather again, but it’s definitely getting colder at night. I have to say things are getting a bit scary here with the increase of infections and people just not caring about social distancing anymore. So I’m definitely back to my own bubble and just going to work and then back home.

So there’s not much to tell this week. We did have to take our furry ones to the vet this week for the yearly check up and vaccines. They didn’t like us at all, but luckily they’re healthy and good for a year! And as a bit of a comfort, I decided to bake a cake. It came out great if I do say so myself!

Since my last royal update, I’ve received a few ARCs. Here are the ones I received.

Kingdom of the Wicked – Kerri Maniscalco I enjoyed the Stalking Jack the Ripper series and this author’s next book has witches. Need I say more?!? Definitely a perfect Halloween read!

Premeditated Myrtle & How to Get Away with Myrtle – Elizabeth C. Bunce I was approached by the publisher if I wanted to read these two middle grade mysteries for the blog tour. I love mysteries and these two books sound like a lot of fun.

Forget This Ever Happened – Cassandra Rose Clarke I’ll be participating in the book tour for Forget This Ever Happened. I’m not sure what to expect of this one, but it sounds interesting.

Loathe Thy Neighbor – Teagan Hunter I love reading books by Teagan Hunter and Loathe Thy Neighbor is the irst book in her new series: Roommate Romps. I have a feeling I’ll be laughing out loud while reading this.

Rifts and Refrains – Devney Perry In my last Royal Update I received Lies & Lullabies and this is the second book. Just written by a different author. This one sounds just as amazing.

Well This Sucks – CoraLee June When I read the synopsis to this one it already had me laughing. I didn’t have to think long after that to sign up for this one. Perfect time of year for this as well.

Since my last Royal Update I read The Year Shakespeare Ruined My Life, The Sea of Monsters, The Foxhole Court, Wicked Things #2, The Wild Path, A Girl Called Shameless, Chasing Starlight and Nobody Knows But You.

At the moment I’m reading A Curse of Gold,The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, Rock Star Confined, Rocked and Furia. I’m reading a few more, but these are my main focus at the moment.

This week I’ll be starting Well This Sucks, Lies & Lullabies, You Had Me at Hola and The King’s 100.

There are a couple of pieces of bookish news I want to share with you today!

I actually did buy a couple of things since my last Royal Update, but they’re for Isabelle. So you’ll have to wait for our blog birthday unboxing that will be posted in the next couple of weeks on the blog!

I had a pretty bad headache yesterday and just wasn’t really up to doing anything, so  I decided to watch an old favorite. Gilmore Girls is a show I love and it will never get old. I have a feeling I’ll be re-watching everything now that I’ve started again.

I’m a big fan of acapella groups if you haven’t been able to tell by me constantly listening to Home Free, haha. Pentatonix is also a group I’m a big fan of. They did a cover of Mad World and released it this week, so I’ve gone down the rabbit hole listening to their music again. They’re amazing. If you don’t know them, definitely check their music out!

So that’s my update again for this week. How have you been? Read anything interesting lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
