We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
Last time I talked about how warm it was… Well that has changed. Our weather has started to call off and we’ve gotten some rain. Unfortunately on my way home from work one of those days. I got caught in a downpour and even my umbrella didn’t keep me completely dry. All I can say is that wet socks aren’t fun at all, haha. That weekend we had my boyfriend’s parents over for a little bit. It was nice to see them again and catch up!
I think Isabelle already mentioned it in her Royal Update, but we were also able to see each other again for the first time in months. It was nice to catch up and get some blog things ready (including our third blog birthday coming up). Other than that it’s basically been working and reading while cuddling with the kitties. And some quality time with the boyfriend watching a movie.
I finally have a week that’s been pretty quiet when it comes to incoming ARCs. Since my last Royal Update I’ve received three ARCs.
The Wild Path – Sarah R. Baughman I’m loving all of the amazing middle grade books releasing this year (at least they sound amazing). The Wild Path sounds like it’s going to be an emotional one, but I love that equine therapy is going to play a part of this book.
Winter, White, and Wicked – Shannone Dittemore This book is pitched as Mad Max: Fury Road meets Frozen. I have to say that pitch caught my eye. I have a feeling this is going to be an interesting adventure.
Lies & Lullabies – Sarina Bowen Three of my favorite romance authors got together to write a trilogy. Each author has her own book, but they all sound amazing. Lies & Lullabies is the first book Rock star romances are a lot of fun and I can’t wait to read this.
SInce my last Royal Update I’ve finished reading: The Reality of Everything, The Quiet You Carry, The How and the Why, Jackaby, The Rose and the Dagger, Ironspark, Sick Kids in Love, The Inheritance Games, Wicked Things and The Year Shakespeare Ruined My Life.
At the moment I’m currently reading: A Girl Called Shameless, Quiet No More, The Sea of Monsters, Keeper of the Lost Cities and The Foxhole Court.
This week I plan on starting: The Wild Path, Bone Crier’s Moon, Chasing Starlight and Rocked.
I’ve been really bad at keeping track of bookish news. I promise I’ll try and do better for my next royal update. Here are two book announcements that caught my eye. They sound really good!
Once again, I’m really boring when it comes to shopping, haha. The only thing that I spent money on was to get my jeans fixed after a zipper broke.
There are so many shows for me to catch up on, but I noticed recently that Good Witch is on Netflix here. It’s a show I’ve been wanting to see for awhile, so I had to give it a go. I’m still watching the first season, but it’s the perfect show for this time of year.
After Isabelle wrote her post about 20 favorite songs from Hamilton, I’ve been listening to the soundtrack again. I don’t think I’ll get enough of this music. It’s amazing that someone was able to write songs like these.
So that’s how my couple of weeks have gone! How have you been? Read anything good lately? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to chat.
