We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Authors I’ve Read the Most Books By. I think I did a post about this quite a while ago because at one point you were able to see this on your Goodreads account. Unfortunately that is no longer an option so let’s see if I can get an accurate number for the list ;). Let’s dive in!
10. Danielle Garrett
11 books
Danielle writes some wonderful cosy mysteries in the fantasy genre. I really enjoy her books and fly through them. She has a couple of (interconnected) series and I plan on reading any and all of them. My favorite series so far is the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series and I can’t wait for the next book in it.
9. V.E. Schwab
11 books
I’m so happy Victoria made it on this list <3. She is one of my absolute favorite authors and she is a wonderful human being. I love listening to her talk and could do so for days on end. At the moment I have 2 bindups of series and one another book by her on my shelves that I haven’t read yet. It’s pretty much all of her earlier work and I plan on reading it soon!
8. P.C. Cast & Kristin Cast
12 books
I was not really expecting these two on the list haha. And to be honest, I would never say they are favorites of mine. Years ago I started reading their House of Night series and while I enjoyed it at first, it was way to long winded for me. In the end though, I only had a couple more books left so I decided to just finish the series haha. At that’s why I did read 12 books, but I’m pretty sure I won’t read any more books by them.
7. Sarah J. Maas
12 books
Not surprised Sarah made it to this list! And I have two more books to go at the moment. Her next books are already announced and I will definitely be reading them as well so she’ll probably stay on this list for a while longer. Sarah wrote one of my absolute favorite series ever, the Throne of Glass series, and I just love her writing.
6. Lemony Snicket
13 books
Another author I wasn’t expecting haha. I read the whole A Series of Unfortunate Events series so that’s why I read 13 books. After this I don’t expect to read anymore Lemony Snicket books (are there even more?).
5. John Allison
13 books
John Allison made his way onto this list very quickly this year haha. I read the whole Giant Days series (13 books) and really enjoyed that comic series. This series wasn’t my usual go-to genre but it was fun and I read it super quickly. I might pick up more comics by John Allison!
4. Jennifer Lynn Barnes
14 books
Jennifer is one of my absolute favorite authors and I think she’s so underrated. One of my favorite series by her didn’t get a third book because the numbers weren’t high enough unfortunately. I am happy to say I got Candyce and a couple of other friends to pick up her Naturals series <3. And I still have a book by her I haven’t read yet! I hope to read it soon and then it’s just a little wait for her next book.
3. Karin Slaughter
17 books
Another absolute favorite author! Karin is my favorite crime author and I’m so glad to have met her. She is wonderful and very kind. And she is also twisted because she comes up with some CRAZY twisted books! I still have some unread and I need to change that soon because she just keeps on writing more haha.
2. J.K. Rowling
17 books
Of course J.K. Rowling is on her. I adore the Harry Potter series and everything that has come from that. Unfortunately J.K. has made a ton of transphobic comments lately so I don’t plan on picking up more books by her at this point. I still adore the Harry Potter world and will reread these books time and time again.
1.Cassandra Clare
21 books
Somehow Cassandra made it to the top of the list (again I think haha). I wouldn’t necessarily say she’s one of my favorite authors but I did read a ton of her books. The Shadowhunter world is very extensive and I still enjoy it. The later books are actually the superior ones and I’m excited to dive into her newest series.
These are my 10 (actually 11) most read authors! It’s fun to see some are still on here but also interesting to see some authors on this list. Not all are favorites but I still managed to read a lot of books by them, usually a whole series. It was a lot of fun looking this all up! I will definitely do an updated list at some point. who are some of your most read authors? Tell me in the comments!
I’ve read most books by Jim Butcher and I love this idea, is it okay if I do it too?
I chose not to feature Rowling for that reason! I have one of her books on the next list and I’ll always love HP but, ergh. Hopefully I’ll finish A Series Of Unfortunate Events one day!

Great list! Yeah Rowling is one of my most read authors, too, but her behaviour is gross.
I love Sarah J Maas!!
It’s sometimes interesting when authors you wouldn’t have expected to see or wouldn’t consider your favourites crop up! Bet I’ve got some of those in my actual stats (I just sort of guessed by looking at my shelves, haha).

SJM made my list too, and I’m almost with you on Cassandra Clare with 18, but I have a couple more to go this fall. Looking forward to Chain of Iron!
