How is it that we’re already looking at releases for June?!? We’re almost halfway through 2020! Even though this year is flying by, it’s not a bad thing this year with everything going on. What books are coming are way? Come find out when we talk about our Anticipated June releases!
Queen of Coins and Whispers – Helen Corcoran (June 2nd)
I’m pretty sure this one made it to a previous list! It seems like it was pushed back like a lot of other books lately. I’m still intrigued by this one. It’s a queer political fantasy and that just sounds awesome. The reviews are pretty good so I’m exited to experience this one for myself.
The Court of Miracles – Kester Grant (June 2nd)
I have to start off by saying that the multiple covers for The Court of Miracles are all stunning! I’ve heard some amazing things about this book. Les Miserables meet Six of Crows definitely sounds like an interesting combination!
My Calamity Jane – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows (June 2nd)
We’re both extremely excited for this one! The first two books in this series are amazing and we have been waiting for 2 years for My Calamity Jane. Of course the preorder has been placed and this one will be read in June for sure!
Kissing Lessons – Sophie Jordan (June 2nd)
I love contemporaries and Kissing Lessons seems like a perfect summer read. It’s mentioned in the synopsis that it’s for fans of Sex Education. That sounds promising.
Little Creeping Things – Chelsea Ichaso (June 2nd)
If I’m honest, the only thing I know about Little Creeping Things is that it’s a YA thriller. It’s been getting a lot of hype online and I’ve been looking forward to it. The cover is rather creepy. This seems like the perfect book to read around Halloween!
Conventionally Yours – Annabeth Albert (June 2nd)
All I needed to know was that this book takes place at a convention! I love everything that has characters with fandoms and their adventures at a con. Add some romance and I’m sold!
Hood – Jenny Elder Moke (June 9th)
This one is about Isabelle, the daughter of Robin Hood and that’s all I really needed to know to want to pick this one up haha. The synopsis sounds pretty good but the cover could’ve been better ;). Still want to read it though!
The Shadow Wand – Laurie Forest (June 9th)
At the moment, I’m reading The Iron Flower and really enjoying it. And I know I’m going to need the next book once I’m done. This is a series that deserves a lot more hype than it’s getting. I couldn’t recommend it more!
Rage and Ruin – Jennifer L. Armentrout (June 9th)
As usual, I’m reading multiple books at once and I started Storm and Fury yesterday. Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favorite authors. I was going to wait for the trilogy to be done, but I just couldn’t resist starting when she’s been teasing us with quotes from Rage and Ruin!
I’ll Be the One – Lyla Lee (June 16th)
This one features a bisexual Korean-American teen girl who wants to be the first plus-sized K-pop star. How awesome does that sound? She joins a competition and while I don’t pick up that much contemporary this is one I need to read!
Giant Days vol. 13 – John Allison (June 16th)
I really enjoyed the Giant Days series! Since all the separate issues are out already, I read the whole series but still wanted to mention this one here. I would definitely recommend this series set at an UK university.
The Circus Rose – Betsy Cornwell (June 16th)
A queer retelling of “Snow White and Rose Red” in which teenage twins battle evil religious extremists to save their loves and their circus family. Sign me up!
You Say It First – Katie Cotugno (June 16th)
If I’m honest, I would buy this one for the cover alone, haha. I’m loving all of the illustrated covers! As a contemporary fan, I think this one is right up my alley. It’ll be interesting to see how the main characters connect through phone calls.
A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians – H.G. Parry (June 23rd)
Last week I posted a Can’t Wait Wednesday for this one, so I think it’s safe to say I’m excited. I’m especially curious to see how all the different places will come into play and into contact. The setting is historical and it sounds awesome!
Seasons of the Storm – Elle Cosimano (June 23rd)
The concept of this book sounds so interesting, I really hope the author created a story that can live up to it. Four people are the immortal physical embodiment of our seasons and they hunt and kill each other in the cycle of seasons. Sounds pretty cool right? Excited to find out if it’s as cool as it sounds!
Forest of Souls – Lori M. Lee (June 23rd)
I think this cover look amazing! And the synopsis sounds great, I’m not completely sure what’s going on but I think I’ll like it. Especially the focus of sisterhood, I’m a sucker for a good female friendship. The early reviews are also pretty good!
Rebel Spy – Veronica Rossi (June 23rd)
I only found out about Rebel Spy recently, but it sounds really interesting. Rebel Spy is a historical fiction story about a society girl spying for George Washington. I’ve been wanting to read more historical fiction and this one seems like one I’ll really enjoy.
Take a Hint, Dani Brown – Talia Hibbert (June 23rd)
Get a Life. Chloe Brown was one of my favorite books at the end of last year! It was everything I needed in a romance and I’m excited for the next book. We got a little glimpse of Dani and I’ll be reading this ASAP!
I Killed Zoe Spanos – Kit Frick (June 30th)
I didn’t really like the first book I read by Kit, but this synopsis sounds intriguing enough for me to try again. Anna confesses to killing Zoe but Martina, teen host of the Missing Zoe podcast isn’t satisfied. After loving Sadie, this might just be what I need.
Mexican Gothic – Silvia Moreno-Garcia (June 30th)
This cover is gorgeous! The book is a gothic suspense story set in 1950s Mexico and I’m intrigued. Horror really scares me but I’m willing to try this one. I like the historical aspect and the early reviews are very positive!
Trul1f3 – Jay Kristoff (June 30th)
Trul1f3 is a book I need right now, but am also very afraid of. I just recently read Lifel1k3 and Dev1at3 and they were amazing. Jay Kristoff is an amazing author, even though his books always hurt. I’m hoping the characters I’ve come to love will make it to the end!
The Empire of Gold – S.A. Chakraborty (June 30th)
I can’t believe the The Daevabad Trilogy is coming to an end. The first two books were really interesting and I liked them a lot more than I expected. It’s going to be interesting to see how everything ends for all of the characters. I have a feeling it’s going to be an action packed book!
Love, Creekwood – Becky Albertalli (June 30th)
Becky Albertalli only recently announced this Simonverse novella. I loved Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda and am excited to see how all of these amazing characters are doing. I may need to read Leah on the Offbeat before reading Love, Creekwood though.
After seeing how many books we’re looking forward to, we’re actually happy some books were delayed, haha. What books are you looking forward to? Did we miss any? Let us know in the comments!
