We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Ten Signs You’re a Book Lover and I wasn’t really feeling that. Luckily Candyce thought of a fun prompt for me to do! So today I will share 10 of my favorite book-loving characters. Characters that love books are instantly more relatable to me so I think I can come up with a good list. Let’s dive in!
Hermione Granger – Harry Potter series
Would there even be a list without Hermione? I loved reading about her so much. She was about my age when the first couple of books came out and I quite enjoyed school and learning just like she did. It definitely made her more relatable!
Cath – Fangirl
I think Cath was the first book character I truly saw myself in. She’s in university and some of the situations she finds herself in are very similar to real life. And her reactions are almost exactly how mine would be. I love her with my whole heart and would love to read more about her.
Eliza – Eliza and her Monsters
I didn’t expect to love this book and Eliza as much as I do. This book isn’t in my comfort zone but I’m so glad I read it and I got to know Eliza. She is another relatable character. Eliza definitely had some issues and wasn’t perfect at all but I loved reading about her.
Tyrion – Game of Thrones series
The only guy on this list! I liked Tyrion in the books but I liked him even more in the tv show. He had some great quotes and I loved how he didn’t let his disadvantages keep him down.
Caelena – Throne of Glass series
The Throne of Glass series is one of my favorite series no matter what anyone else says. Part of that is because of Caelena. I love her for many reasons, including her love for books and music.
Jane – My Lady Jane
Jane is basically my spirit animal! She brought a book to a wedding, and wouldn’t we all like to do that every now and then? Jane is my favorite character in this series and I don’t Jane 3 will be able to out do her but I am extremely excited about the new book.
Meggie – Inkworld series
I loved this series when I was younger and wished everything that happened was true! To be able to travel to book worlds or bring something from a book to our world, that must be incredible. It’s been years since I last read these books but I do remember liking Meggie a lot.
Hazel – The Fault in our Stars
I totally forgot about Hazel when I started this list! But her love for a novel actually got her to travel to Amsterdam and gave us some amazing scenes. The bench in Amsterdam they used in the movie got visited by sooooo many people!
Taylor – Queens of Geek
It took me a while to finally pick up Queens of Geek but I was so happy that I did it. The setting was wonderful and I loved reading about Taylor. There was some really nice representation and I love how much Taylor loved a Harry Potter like series in her world.
Elisabeth – Sorcery of Thorns
My most recent favorite bookworm! The books in this book were so much fun and I wish we could’ve spent more time in the libraries we briefly visited. Elisabeth did learn more about her world throughout the story but she stayed a bookworm through and through!
This was harder than I thought it would be! Who’s your favorite bookworm book character? Let me know in the comments!

Cath is awesome. I would really love a sequel to Fangirl. Her and Levi and even Reagan- i would love to know more. what happens to them NEXT? 🙂
I need to read Sorcery of Thorns.
Did you see the announcement for the Fangirl manga? Maybe they’ll do a sequel if that does well. I’m super excited for it!
Highly recommend Sorcery of Thorns
That’s cool that you got to do something a little bit different. I agree that Tyrion is a great character, and like you I like him better in the show

I loved how relatable they were, definitely made reading a contemporary that much more enjoyable for me.
Gah, Sorcery of Thorns was theeeee besttttt! That was one of my favorite reads of 2019! I wish so badly I could live in that world, and I just basically want to BE Elisabeth and have Nathaniel all to myself 😍
