We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Changes In My Reading Life. I honestly can’t think of anything for this prompt, so I decided to take a look at the list of old topics. THat’s what made me decide to do the following topic this week. I want to talk about 2019 Releases I Was Excited About & Should Have Read Already.
King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo I’m actually shocked I haven’t read this one yet. In January, I made sure to read the Grishaverse trilogy, so I could dive right in to this one! I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but I’m still really excited.
The Lovely and the Lost – Jennifer Lynn Barnes This author hasn’t disappointed me yet. The story sounded amazing and the book is really pretty. I’m currently reading Little White Lies, so hopefully I’ll catch up with this one soon!
Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake After reading the first three books in this series and the novellas, I was so excited for this book. I’m scared though, because who knows what happens to the characters and I just don’t want it to end!
American Royals – Katherine McGee Reading about royalty is always interesting and having one that takes plac in the US sounds like a lot of fun. I’m mostly shocked I haven’t read this yet, because I have the e-ARC and a physical copy now, haha.
The Grace Year – Kim Liggett A few friends of mine have read this and were amazed by how good it is. I was lucky to get the e-ARC on Netgalley, but haven’t had a chance to read it. I’ve wanted to pick it up a few times, but keep getting distracted by other books. This will be read soon though (even if I say this very often, haha).
Wayward Son – Rainbow Rowell I’ve said it before on the blog, Fangirl and Carry On are two favorites of mine. I was so excited when the author announce we were getting more! Isabelle and I even ordered the pretty Waterstones edition. Wayward Son keeps staring at me when I walk by it. I really want to reread Fangirl and Carry on first though.
The Beautiful – Renée Ahdieh Once again, a book I’ve started, but haven’t finished, haha. I’ve read 23% of my e-ARC already and really enjoye The Beautiful so far. I definitely need to make time to finish this story. I’ve seen the cover for the sequel and it’s stunning! So hopefully I continue to love this book.
Storm & Fury – Jennifer L. Armentrout The Dark Elements is one of my favorites from this author and when she announced the spin off I was very excited. I own this book already, but wanted to finish rereading the original trilogy first! I’ve read the first book, so two more to go!
Aurora Rising – Jay Kristoff & Amie Kaufman After reading The Illuminae Files by these authors, I want anything they write together. Aurora Rising is the first book in their new series and I got it in May when it was released. It’s a group read this month, so I’m hoping to squeeze it in.
The Ten Thousand Doors of January – Alix E. Harrow Look at how stunning this cover is! After reading a few historical fictions, I’ve definitely gotten more curious about this genre. This is another one that I have had an e-ARC of and just haven’t gotten to yet. I need to change that soon!
2019 has been filled with some amazing releases and it was hard to just choose ten. The books I talked about today are the first that came to mind. What 2019 releases do you really need to read? Feel free to leave your link for this week. I would love to see what other bloggers did with this week’s topic!
