Bookish Item| F Is For Friday #2

In June I discovered F Is For Friday created by Nomadic Worlds. It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these posts, so it’s time to write one again. Let’s take a look again to see what it’s all about!

How to participate in the meme:
1. Credit the creator of this tag (Me! 😉 ) and link back.
2. Answer the four questions to the best of your ability.
3. Most important of all, enjoy yourself!

F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read)
I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.
F – Favorite quote of the week/day
F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

This seems simple enough, let’s give it a go!

F – Feature your latest book obsession (it doesn’t have to be your current read)

Lately I’ve been reading a lot of amazing things! I have three books I want to talk about now that have really stood out!

A Treason of Thorns is a book I just finished reading a few days ago. This author has such a way with words and the worlds she builds for her books are so unique. Her books are definitely a bit dark, but they really make you feel for the characters. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Last time I did this post, I actually mentioned another book by this author and it’s time again! I recently read Forget the Stars and this author impressed me again. She always gives us books with less than perfect characters and makes you fall in love with them! I so recommend her work!

And last but not least, I read The Kiss Quotient and was so surprised by this book. Not many books have a character that is on the autism spectrum, especially romances, and this one did. I loved Stella and this book was so amazing! I hope more authors follow in her footsteps!

I – Indicate which book/s you are looking forward to reading this weekend.

This weekend I have no plans and it’s going to be a relaxing one! Once again, I want to read so many books! Here are a couple I hope to get to!

A friend of mine set up a buddy read for the Falling Kingdoms series and the first one gets discussed soon, so that’s what I’ll be starting with! Except for the last book of the series, I own them all, so it’s time to give them a go!

I’m over 200 pages in with Godsgrave and really want to finish this weekend! Everyone says this one ends with a major cliffhanger, but my Illumicrate box should be sent soon, so I won’t have to wait long to start Darkdawn. These books take a bit to read, but are SO good!!

Also, I need to get started with #murdertrending! This book looks like it’s going to be a weird one, but I think I’ll enjoy it. We’re doing a group read in TBR & Beyond and I want to be ready for the discussion! On top of that, I love reading books that are a bit more out of my comfort zone.

F – Favorite quote of the week/day

Like I said earlier in this post, I recently finished A Treason of Thorns. The author is amazing with words and this quote has stuck with me this week:

“In the labyrinth of my own mind, I count fears instead of stars.”

F – Five things you’re happy or grateful for this week.

  • Friends that love books as much as I do. I love being able to talk about a thing that is a big part of my life and have them understand. It’s fun to share the love of the same things!
  • Cooler weather. Even though we’re still having some nicer weather, we’ve been getting cooler days as well! Being able to curl up with a blanket again in the evening has been amazing again.
  • The day I’m typing this, we found out being in The Netherlands has an advantage. We get to test Disney+ before it releases worldwide. I love looking through the shows on there and all the memories seeing different shows brings back.
  • My cats, Shadow & Shasta, we’ve had them for over two years, but I love they can still make me smile daily. Listening to them purr can make your whole day right again.
  • Simple things have been making me happy this week. I just baked a cake and I love that something so simple, is something I love. Relaxing things are important to keep in your regular schedule!

So that’s my F is for Friday this time! Let me know what your latest book obsession is or something that has made you happy this week!
