Wow, once again it’s been so long since I’ve done a Down the TBR Hole that I thought it would be a good time to do one again. My Want to Read shelf on Goodreads has increased again, so it’s time to take a look again!
Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
- Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!
Current “to-read” shelf: 484 (my last post this was at 440… oops!)
Adorkable – Sarra Manning
Part of me still wants to read this book, because this title is just so cute. Add a main character that has her own blog and you’ve got me. Adorkable was released in 2012, so I don’t know how easy it would be to find this book. On top of that, the few friends that have read this, only gave the book 3 stars.

Holly’s Inbox – Holly Denham
Books with e-mails or texts have become favorites of mine. I don’t know what it is, but they just make a story so much fun! Holly’s Inbox is another one that seems like it will be a lot of fun. Again, this book is pretty old, so I don’t know how easy it will be to find! And how is a book like this 736 pages?!?
Remove
Immortal – Gillian Shields
One of my favorite bookish settings is a boarding school and that would make Immortal perfect. I have to say it’s weird that I’ve never really heard of anyone reading this book. This series has a total of four books and only one of my Goodreads friends has read this and it was released in 2009. I think I’ll have to pass on this one.
Remove
Young Wives’ Tales – Adele Parks
After reading the summary again, I don’t know what interested me before. Well, I kind of do. Except for the fact that one of the main characters was a mistress. One thing I don’t enjoy in books is cheating. Even if it’s only a part of the story, I don’t think I’ll pick this one up!
Remove
The Mortal Heart – Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Beautiful Creatures was a series I really enjoyed and I totally forgot about these Unforgotten stories. Novellas and short stories always give an extra glimpse into the worlds we end up loving!
Keep
Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour – Morgan Matson
I can’t believe this book is ten years old! Morgan Matson is an author that’s always interested me. I’ve only read Since You’ve Been Gone, but I definitely want to read the others! So Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour is one that will be sticking around.
Keep
The Chocolate Lovers’ Club – Carole Matthews
As a chocolate lover, I would definitely join this club. This book sounds interesting, but sounds like something I’ve read before. Once again, this is another older book. So I don’t think I’ll ever read this one.
Remove
Pale Kings & Princes, Bitter of Tongue and The Fiery Trial – Cassandra Clare
All three of these are short stories in Tales of the Shadowhunter Academy. I’ve read the first five, so I will definitely be reading these three. In all honesty, I’m surprised I haven’t finished these stories. The Shadowhunter world is always a fun place to be!

Current “to read” – shelf: 479
I was able to remove five books from my Goodreads TBR, so that’s a good week in my book. What do you think of my choices? Should I have kept any or remove any of the books I’ve decided to keep? My Goodreads want to read list is still out of control, haha.
Oh I definitely still want to read Amy and Roger’s !
