Review| Tell Me Goodnight – Kelsey Kingsley

If you’ve been following us for awhile, you know that I’m a big fan of Kelsey Kingsley’s work. Her newest book, Tell Me Goodnight, released last month. I just now realized I only reviewed on other platforms and not the blog, so I needed to share this with you as well! Let’s take a look!

This is the story of how I fell in love with a broken man and his three little princesses. It is tragic, but it is true. And with truth, there is almost always tragedy.

Tessa Lang has dreams of becoming the world’s next great author of horror novels. So, when she’s given the opportunity to write full-time, she sets out to do just that.

There’s just one little problem.

She’s not scary. At all.

It seems that her plans are ruined, until she meets heartbroken pianist, Jon O’Dell and his three little girls. Suddenly, she finds herself full of inspiration, and with the advice from her grandmother and best-selling novelist, M.L. Lang, Tessa decides to write what her heart wants – romance.

But as her novel moves steadily along, relationships start to develop, and Jon’s heart begins to mend, Tessa finds herself facing another unexpected dilemma.

What happens when you fall in love with your muse?

Review

I think I’ve said it before when writing reviews for books by Kelsey Kingsley, but she has a way with words! Without even realizing it, she sucks you in to her stories and makes you care so much for her characters. Even though her stories have an ending for her characters, they always leave you wanting more. I would even take a story of Tessa and Jon just being happy!

Jon is a musician and plays piano in his brother’s club. His life was turned upside down and he was left behind to take care of his three precious girls (who may even be my favorite characters in this story, they’re just so sweet). Jon is in survival mode and in many ways he’s stuck.

Tessa dreams of writing a book, but hasn’t written one yet. She moves in with her grandmother to take care of her and have a chance to write her book. I love Tessa’s grandmother, because she is so feisty. As a bestselling author, she knows what Tessa is going through. At a certain point Tessa needs a break from her grandmother and wants a job. That’s when Tessa and Jon meet.

My favorite thing about Kelsey Kingsley’s books is that her characters are never perfect, but are perfect for each other. Tessa and Jon’s first encounters are so much fun and maybe a bit awkward, but I love the journey of them getting to know each other and start to feel more.

For me Tell Me Goodnight is a journey of finding yourself again, family, love, following your dreams and second chances. If you’re looking for a light and carefree romance, this isn’t a book for you. Still give it a chance though, because it’s so much more. The journey this author takes you on is so worth it! Tell Me Goodnight is unforgettable and I know I will be reading it again in the near future! I will never get enough.

I love how this author creates such amazing stories and characters! I will be impatiently awaiting her next book. What author makes you feel the same way? Let me know in the comments!
