Another Thursday means another tag! Nothing too fancy today, but a pretty fun one nonetheless. I have the 20 Questions Book Tag today, which I first saw over at Paper Fury‘s blog. Since there are a lot of questions, 20 as you could probably tell ;), I’d say, let’s get to it!
1.HOW MANY BOOKS ARE TOO MANY FOR A SERIES?
This is a hard one! I love reading series and usually want more! It really depends on the story though, sometimes the third book can already be unnecessary, other times eight books are not enough. I’d say, about five is ideal, although Harry Potter and Throne of Glass or some of my favorites and they both have 7 books. So maybe 7 is my ideal 😉
2.HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS?
Love to hate them! When I finish a book on a cliffhanger I get like a bit annoyed, but at the same time I love it. That’s really how you keep someone engaged in my opinion. I also love talking to other readers about what might happen next!
3.HARDCOVER OR PAPERBACK?
I love looking at hardcovers but price wise I have to go for paperbacks. Reading wise it depends on the paperback. I prefer hardcovers to stiff paperbacks but not to those floppy ones. So I guess I’d go with (floppy) paperbacks.
4.FAVOURITE BOOK?
How can you ask this? You can find my favorites bookshelf on my Goodreads here, these are most of my favorites!
5.LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK?
Apparently I’ve only given one book a one star haha. That’s The Hockey Saint. But I’d say The Dead House, Wink Poppy Midnight, Night Film and The Magicians are some other books I really did not enjoy.
6.LOVE TRIANGLES, YES OR NO?
I don’t really like love triangles, but then again, I usually don’t care about the romance that much. If I could choose, I’d probably say no to love triangles. Unless someone can come up with an unique twist to it!
7.THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU COULDN’T FINISH?
I don’t really DNF books so I have to leave this one blank!
8.A BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Sailor Moon 2 and Veronica Mars: The Thousand Dollar Tan Line. I usually read an audiobook, ebook and physical book at the same time! So that’s these three books at the moment.
9.LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?
Great question! I don’t remember though haha. It might be Red, White & Royal Blue, a book I loved A LOT and a new favorite of mine.
10.OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?
I had to look this up but it’s Alice in Wonderland! Lewis Carroll wrote this classic in 1865, that’s over 150 years ago! How insane is that?
11.NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ BY PUBLICATION DATE?
Again, the answer to this is Red, White & Royal Blue! Candyce and I both got an eARC of this one and loved it so much.
12.FAVOURITE AUTHOR?
I have quite a lot, but these are some of them; Leigh Bardugo, V.E. Schwab, Sarah J. Maas, Maggie Stiefvater, J.K. Rowling, Karin Slaughter. These lovely ladies are the first that come to mind!
13.BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING BOOKS?
I love buying and owning books, but I’ve also always been a library member. So I don’t mind borrowing at all, especially for books I’m not too sure about. And since my income has a limit, I can’t keep buying 😉
14.A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE SEEMS TO LOVE?
The Ocean at the End of the Lane seems to get quite positive reviews. But if I’m being honest, I really disliked it a lot. Not my kind of book at all, and partly the reason I’m thinking of just staying away from Neil Gaiman’s work.
15.BOOKMARKS OR DOG EARS?
Nowadays I always use bookmarks (or something that might pass for a bookmark). But when I was younger I used to dog ear all my books haha. And I’m not ashamed! I don’t mind it when you can see a book has been read, I actually prefer it.
16.A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS RE-READ?
There is only one answer here, Harry Potter. You can wake me up in the middle of the night for Harry Potter.
17.CAN YOU READ WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC?
Yes! I usually have some music on a low volume while reading. After a while I don’t hear it anymore but I prefer it to a really quiet room.
18.ONE POV OR MULTIPLE?
I’m not sure I really have a preference but I think that I would go with multiple POV if I really had to pick. Fantasy is my favorite genre and I enjoy reading books with a large cast of characters.
19.DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?
Multiple days unless its a comic or manga. Those I do usually read in one sitting. But for ‘regular’ novels, that’s not doable for me most of the time.
20.WHO DO YOU TAG?
Anyone who wants to do this tag!
Like I said, nothing special today, but still an enjoyable tag! Â What’s the oldest book you’ve read? Let me know in the comments!
