After looking around to find a new meme for Monday, I stumbled upon: Monday, What am I reading? This is kind of like Whatcha Reading Wednesday, but it fits better today. This meme is hosted by Book Date!
So let’s take a look at what I recently read and what I am reading now and what I am going to pick up during this week.
Yesterday I started and finished Happy Messy Scary Love by Leah Konen. This is a perfect summer read. It’s a book you read and no time and I really enjoyed this story. Horror lovers will also be happy with all of the references!
At this moment I’m currently reading Better Than Me. I am a big fan of medical dramas and when you add a friends to lovers romance, I’m sold. I am over a third in at the moment and really enjoying this book. Both main characters are doctors and I love to see them equal in that sense. There is a lot of humor and we actually read about the patients and work they do. I think the author made a great choice adding those aspects.
If you follow the blog or our Instagram, you know that I normally read multiple books at once. At the moment, I am only reading one, but I think that will change this week. Here are a few I hope to start and finish this week (including a few ARCs)!
This week is the release of Game Plan, the final book in the Varsity Girlfriends series. I loved the first three books and I am definitely sad to see this one end. If you’re looking for a new summer series, I would definitely recommend this one.
I also have an ARC of A Five-Minute Life by Emma Scott. This book is going to break my heart (or at least I think after reading the blurb). The cover is stunning and I am excited to finally give this author a try!
Written with Regret by Aly Martinez is another romance I will be reading. It seems like I will be reading very emotional books this week, haha. This sounds like a darker story, but I am hoping it does get a happily ever after. Written With Regret is a duet, so it wouldn’t surprise me if there was some sort of cliffhanger!
Last but not least, I plan on starting Descendant of the Crane. We’re doing a group read for this in the TBR & Beyond Book Club. The author will also be visiting for an author chat. A few friends have already read this story and were impressed, so I can’t wait to give it a go!
I have quite an ambitious reading week, but I am excited to start all of these. Have you read any of these or plan to read any? Let me know in the comments!
Emma Scott is good at breaking hearts!!
This is my first book by her and I am excited!
