To land her dream job of partner in the most prestigious firm on the Upper East Side, Poppy must now pull double shifts as their wedding planner and maid of honor. One ruined cake.

One archnemesis.

One hour to save the wedding.

Can they put their hatred aside long enough to save Poppy’s job and Bridezilla’s head from exploding?

Piece of cake, right?

Review

Cover I loved this cover. It’s so unique! A friend of mine said that the male character looks like Chris Hemsworth which after taking a second look, makes a lot of sense. I think after the Thor references in the book that my friend is on to something, haha. One of my favorite covers this year.

Plot This was such a cute and fast read. To start off with it all, I instantly connected to Poppy! Her love for Supernatural was so fun, as I am a big fan myself. The fact she named her cats after a few of the characters was hilarious. On top of that the Thor references are hilarious. This book had me laughing out loud and hoping Poppy would get her happy ever after. I mean, come on, her ex fiancé and best friend getting married and having to work the wedding. That is just torture. Leo is an arrogant man and thinks he can have any woman he wants. He has his soft side though and knows how to annoy Poppy like no other, haha. When disaster strikes with the cake, who knows what will happen? This book was pretty predictable, but that didn’t bother me at all. Books like these are just something I need every once in awhile. It’s a feel good book that leaves a smile on your face. I can’t imagine what it feels like having your best friend ending up with your fiancé. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions and the author had me hooked from the start. I loved the connection I felt with the characters from the start and the catchy chapter titles. The few chapters from Leo’s POV were just enough to let us see what he was thinking. It was the icing on the cake.

Characters Poppy in many ways is too sweet. I mean I don’t think I would’ve said yes to be a maid of honor to my so called best friend after she got engaged to my ex fiancé. Even though I get it, because she doesn’t want to lose her job or her chance at a promotion. She holds herself together the best she can and does what any woman would do when it all becomes too much: ice cream and Supernatural. Without even realizing it she is falling for Leo. The more they tease and fight the more she is waiting for his messages. Their back and forth was hilarious. Alcohol made her speak a little too freely, but it was exactly what she needed.

Leo seems like an arrogant guy who thinks he can get any girl in his bed. In some ways this is true, but a lot is pretend. He lets people think a lot of things that aren’t true at all. And even though he may not be looking for a relationship, teasing Poppy seems like a lot of fun. Without realizing it, he starts feeling more. In the end I really liked Leo and appreciated him more than in the beginning.
