We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
Everyone’s favorite hockey players are back! Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander continue the romance that began with viral sensation Heated Rivalry—now streaming on Crave in Canada and on HBO Max in the US—in the highly anticipated final book in New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Rachel Reid’s Game Changers series.
A line has been drawn—and the hockey world is divided.
For the first time in their professional hockey careers, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander have nothing to hide. For more than a decade, they kept their love a secret, but now they’re out, married, and even playing on the same team. The support is incredible.
Most of the time.
They’ve gotten a lot of love from fans who are thrilled for them. But some people in the hockey world are still reeling from their relationship reveal, and the backlash—led by popular hockey podcast Top Shelf and the #TakeBackHockey movement—is getting louder.
Ilya and Shane are finally able to stand together in the light, the way they’d always wanted. And now they might be facing their biggest challenge yet.
It will be almost a whole year before this one will be released, but I’m extremely excited nonetheless! Heated Rivalry is almost all I can think about haha. I have been rewatching the show, rereading the books and I have read quite some fanfiction. The filming of the second season will start soon and then we’ll have to wait until April next year before we actually get the second season. And then in June we’re getting Unrivaled.
I both loved and hated how we left things in The Long Game, I was so mad on Shane’s behave and I just know that will continue in Unrivaled. There was also so much emotion and I cry every time I reread The Long Game, so I am not just excited, I’m also a bit scared haha. I have really high hopes for this book and I hope it will be able to live up to those expectations.
