We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

We’ve had some fun things and a little chaos going on, but I guess that’s life. Our monthly book club had its meeting. It was great seeing everyone again and chatting. Last weekend we had a little game night with friends and played our new Cozy Cat Café game. It was so much fun! This week we have a photographer coming over who may be our wedding photographer, so that’s exciting!

Since my last Royal Update I’ve received some eARC approvals (17… oops): Sincerely Your Murderer, The Shadows That Listen, Entities to Lovers, Mutual Discord, Public Access Afterworld, A Curse for Christmas Past, How to Find Love in the Cereal Aisle, Lies Between Us, The Lowe Job (ALC), Catching Feelings, Pining for You, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder, Hit or Miss, Summer Coven, Trigger Happy, Our Strange Duet, and Captive Traitor King.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: A Widow’s Charm, Soulgazer, Playbook, The Summer of Second Chances, Rendezvous with Rama, Skyward, Boundless, My Brilliant AI Boyfriend, Our Rogue Fates, and The 2000s Made Me Gay: Essays on Pop Culture.

I’m currently reading: Startup Hell, Hopeless Necromantic, The Fake Divination Offense, and Into the Blue.

Next I’m hoping to read: Change of Plans, Rolls and Rivalry, Star Shipped and Dream On, Ramona Riley.

We finally saw Project Hail Mary and I’m so glad I watched it! I loved the book and I appreciated that they kept pretty close to that in the movie. I definitely see myself watching it again!

The fiance and I are slowly working on finishing shows we started watching and we finished Shadow and Bone. You can tell that they weren’t completely expecting not to have a third season, but part of the story line did get wrapped up.

Evanescence released their newest album last Friday, so of course I had to listen to it. The fiancé and I will be going to their concert here in September, so I have to be prepared.
