Wishlist Wednesday | Most Anticipated May 2026 Releases

May is approaching quickly and that means it’s time for our list of most anticipated May releases. The last few months had a lot of releases and really exciting ones. Will that be the same for next month’s releases? Let’s jump in and found out!

The Last Contract of Isako – Fonda Lee (May 5th)

Since reading Project Hail Mary I’ve been in the mood for sci-fi and space operas. The Last Contracy of Isako seems like it will give me exactly what I’m looking for. Also, a female that is known as a legendary swordsman, I love seeing this in stories.

Platform Decay – Martha Wells (May 5th)

This is book number eight in the Murderbot series. I really enjoyed this series and need to get caught up with the last releases! These sci-fi novellas are really fun and it’s wonderful to read them from Murderbot’s POV.

Broken Dove – Dani Francis (May 5th)

Silver Elite was everywhere last year when it released and I will say that I definitely understand the hype. The ending left me wanting more and the sequel is finally releasing soon! I’ve been in a dystopian romance mood, so this is perfect timing!

The Tapestry of Fate – Shannon Chakraborty (May 12th)

We loved The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi when it released in 2023. Now it’s finally time for the sequel! Reading about a female pirate who is older than our usual MC’s and is also a mother is such a good experience and I hope everyone picks this one up.

The Ballad of Falling Dragons – Sarah A. Parker (May 19th)

While it took me a bit to get into When the Moon Hatched, I ended up really enjoying that novel. The world is really interesting and of course I loved the dragon aspect. When I got to the end I wished I could jump into the sequel right away. And now that big book (700+ pages!) is almost here!

Fever Dream – Elsie Silver (May 19th)

Elsie Silver is one of my favorite romance authors. She has been since I read Chestnut Springs. So when she announced another small town Western romance, how could I say no? I’ve enjoyed her other books, but Chestnut Springs definitely has a special place in my heart. We’ll have to see if Fever Dream will bump that series off its throne.

Here are a few of the releases we’re excited about in May! What are you looking forward to? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
