Down the Rabbit Hole #169

We’re starting off this week’s post at the same number as last week, but it won’t be long until we’re under 400 books on my want to read shelf!

Down the TBR Hole was originally created over at Lost in a Story. This meme is now being hosted by Jody from I’m Into Books. It looked like a fun and productive way to finally make a dent in that Goodreads TBR. I went through my want-to-read shelf a little while ago but I think I was still to kind on a lot of books. Let’s see what I’ll make of it this time around. I decided to go with 10 books at a time so lets get started!

It works like this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 or 15 or 20, if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?
  • Keep track of where you left off so you can pick up there next week!

Current “to-read” shelf: 414 (my last post ended at 414. So that’s the same as at the end of my last post.)

Untethered – KayLynn Flanders
Keep

Red Tigress – Amelie Wen Zhao
Keep

Malice – Heather Walter
Remove

If I Disappear – Eliza Jane Brazier
Remove

As Far As You’ll Take Me – Phil Stamper
Remove

The Edge of Strange Hollow – Gabrielle K. Byrne
Remove

The Duke Undone – Joanna Lowell
Remove

Raybearer – Jordan Ifueko
Keep

Maya and the Rising Dark – Rena Barron
Remove

Navigating the Stars – Maria V. Snyder
Keep

This week I didn’t remove as many books from my shelves as my last post, but I did make some progress. I have a few of these on my shelves and a sequel I want to read. There are also a few I don’t even remember adding to my want to read shelf.

Removal Percentage: 60%
Current “to-read” shelf: 408

I’ll be surprised if I don’t end my next Down the TBR Hole post under 400 books! I’m definitely making progress so far this year. Have you read any of these? Would you have kept any of the books I removed from my want to read shelf? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!

  1. That’s a familiar feeling – it’s a constant battle to keep the TBR list under control! I know exactly what you mean about adding books when you don’t have time to read them all.
