We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

January is well underway and it had its ups and downs for me haha. I started the new year in Austria with a short ski trip, and it was wonderful! We had amazing weather, I loved skiing again, we played some fun games and overall I just had a great time. When I got back to the Netherlands it was snowing which started off as a lot of fun.

But then I got to work and the heater broke and I had to teach in my coat while still being extremely cold. And then I had to teach online for 2 days, I hated it so so much!! Now the snow is dissolving but it’s also still really cold so you have to be careful or you’ll slip on the ice that formed everywhere. And once again I’m feeling sick. I really think it might be some form of allergies because I’ve been basically sick since October and I don’t think that’s normal.

I got 2 new eARC’s! Mrs Shim is a Killer by Kang Jiyoung and Witch Trial by Harriet Tyce. They both sound really exciting, but I should also really finish at least 2 eARC’s before I get anymore eARC’s haha.

I finished and loved The Housemaid and I also reread the Scholomance trilogy. That remains an underrated series for me and I just loved it so much once again. I’m currently listening to Babel and I’m reading both Poison Daughter and Mr. & Mrs. Dixon Hide a Body.

Everyone was talking about the final episodes of Stranger Things and after my brother kept pushing me I finally started watching it haha. I finished the first season and I’m currently watching season 2. Loving it so far! I also watched People We Meet on Vacation and I loved it so much. It makes me want to read Emily Henry books and maybe romcom books in general.

I’m back in my Hozier era and I have been listening to his music on repeat haha. He has such amazing albums and I keep discovering new amazing songs.
