Since 2026 is here, it’s time to start diving into the favorites lists of 2025. And I’m kicking it off with my favorite tv shows of 2025. I didn’t watch as much shows as I used to do, but I still watched a lot of great shows. For this list I decided to only go with shows that had new episodes in 2025. I didn’t do a numbered list, because some are just vibes and others were actually GOOD. But I enjoyed them all, so let’s take a look at my list!

XO Kitty
One of the first shows I watched in 2025. Loved it just like the first season! Can’t wait for the next season of this cute and fun show. It made me want to try and dive into some K-dramas, but I haven’t yet unfortunately. If you have any recommendations, let me know!
The Recruit
I was debating whether I would include this one on the list or The Night Agent as I enjoyed both. In the end I decided to go with The Recruit, I had more fun and I remember more from season 2 of the Recruit than I did The Night Agent. Unfortunately there won’t be another season of the Recruit, but we will be watching The Night Agent next month. So maybe it’ll make the list next year ;).
Zero Day
With a cast like this you expect a good show and they delivered in my opinion! This was supposed to be a limited series and the story was completed, so there probably won’t be another season.
Running Point
When I talk about vibes, this is one of the shows I’m talking about. I had sooooo much fun watching this and was on the hunt for something similar for months. And I don’t think I really found anything that hit the spot like this one. It was just really fun! Luckily there will be a second season at the end of February.
Paradise
This was probably the opposite of vibes haha. What an incredible show! During the first episode I wasn’t really sure what to think of it, I thought it all looked a bit off and I just couldn’t put my finger on what it was I didn’t vibe with. And then the episode ended…. I was hooked and couldn’t stop! We’re getting the second season at the end of February and I’m really excited!
Pulse
I wouldn’t necessarily say this was a really good show and it wasn’t all about vibes. But I did really enjoy the show and was disappointed there wouldn’t be a second season. The story was interesting and I liked how it was told. Hopefully we’ll get something similar this year!
Will Trent
One of my favorite current shows! The fourth season is supposed to start this coming week, I really hope we’re getting it in the Netherlands right away… That wasn’t the case for season 3, but I’m not sure I can wait that long haha. I love the books this is based on, but the show it nothing like the books anymore and I just completely let go of that idea. This is something separate now and I simply love it.
Dept. Q
This was so good! Another show where I tried to find something similar after finishing, but I think I was a bit more successful in that search than I was with Running Point. I’m happy to say this will also get a second season, although it will be a while before it releases. This had some great twists, I saw some coming but was totally surprised by others.
Ransom Canyon
Another vibes show, this was so much fun! Although it started pretty heavy haha. I just had a lot of fun watching this, even though the story wasn’t great. Sometimes you just want something easy with some good drama. There will be a second season, probably releasing towards the end of 2026.

Untamed
This was good! I saw some of the twists coming, but still really enjoyed them. This also made me want to watch more shows with similar settings. There will be a second season, it looks like it will be released late 2026/early 2027, so we have something to look forward to.
Ballard
I love Maggie Q and I loved Ballard. Before watching this I didn’t know it was a spin-off of Bosch (which I started watching right after). It had a good story and I just really liked the characters. I’m excited for the second season, although there’s no release date yet.
Wednesday
Maybe it wasn’t as good as the first season, but for me Wednesday was still undeniably great! I think it might have been a mistake to release the season in 2 parts, as the second part really brought everything together and showed what a great season it was. Luckily there will be a third season! Although the wait it going to be long, with a expected release around mid 2027.
Countdown
I hardly heard anyone talk about this show! Yes, I started watching because of Jensen Ackles, but I also really enjoyed it! Sadly there won’t be a second season and I will say I wish it had ended differently knowing that now. There was a cliffhanger and I think some storylines could’ve been handled differently if it was only going to be one season. Unfortunately the show runners were hoping for a second season so now we never will know how the story ends.
The Diplomat
O M G, what a show! I love Keri Russell and Rufus Sewell plays in one of my favorite movies of all time (Tristan+Isolde), so I’m always happy to see them. The story is insanely good and I love the acting. There is good and bad news, the good is that there will be a fourth season, the bad is that it will be released around late 2026/early 2027. So the wait is going to take a while!
High Potential
I wasn’t sure if it should be at the start or at the end of the list. The last bit of the first season was released early 2025, the second season started late 2025. I loved this show last year and I loved it this year. The second season will continue next week and I can’t wait to dive back into cases with Morgan. This is so much fun every week and I’m invested in the over arching story as well.
Nobody Want This
One of my favorites of 2024 and of 2025. This is a romcom like we want it! I know a lot of people were a bit disappointed with the second season and felt like the ending was very similar. But since the context was totally different I personally liked it a lot. The characters made a much more informed decision and I can’t wait to see what will happen in season 3!
The End of an Era
I’m not a documentary girlie, but I am a swiftie! So obviously I had to watch the Era’s documentary and I loved every second of it. I think I cried every single episode and my only critique is that it should’ve been longer. But then again, I wish the Era’s tour was longer as well haha. As the crowd was screaming; MORE! It was simply amazing seeing the behind the scenes, and I loved getting stories from all the people involved in the show.
These were my favorite 2025 shows! I know there’s a lot still haha, even though I cut some and didn’t include ‘older’ shows. Apparently I did still watch a lot haha.
