We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I had two weekends of fun things since my last Royal Update. There was a BookTok event hosted at the bookstore I love visiting nearby. I will say that it was really busy. Even with it being after hours. It was actually harder to browse books than on a normal Saturday afternoon, haha. We didn’t stay the whole evening, but I did meet Hazel McBride and I had my book signed.

Last weekend we went over to see friends and play a board game. It was nice just having a smaller group and having a relaxing afternoon/evening. We had some close calls with our game, but we were able to win in the end.

My incoming ARCs haven’t slowed down, haha. Apparently 2026 is going to be another busy year of new releases that sound amazing. Since my last Royal Update, I’ve added 11 new eARCs to my Kindle: Happy Ending, Rolls and Rivalry, Evil is Forever, How the Story Goes, Rain of Shadows and Endings, Storm of Secrets and Sorrow, Tempest of Wrath and Vengeance, Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl, Heartsong, Riding the Line, and Dom-Com.

Since my last Royal Update I finished reading: Passion Project, The Games Gods Play, The Housemaid, Wisteria, My Boyfriends Are All Monsters, Blue Sisters, How to Break My Heart, and Holiday Ever After.

I’m currently reading (way too many things at once): Alchemised, The Ritual, He Knows When You’re Awake, Cowboy Casual, and The Things Gods Break.

Next I want to read: The Rose Bargain, Rivals, and The Society for Soulless Girls.

I have never seen the original The Roses, but we watched the 2025 remake during one of our recent movie nights. This was such a fun movie. Even if the ending was a bit sudden!

I really need to start listening to music more. Since having a shorter commute, I don’t have as much listening time. One of my daylists last week was Teen Pop Millenial Saturday Morning and it was one right up my alley. This is definitely my time in music!
