TTT #377| 2024 Releases I Was Excited to Read but Still Haven’t Gotten To

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is 2024 releases I was excited to read, but still haven’t gotten to. I know for a fact that there are quite a few that fit this topic, so let’s take a look!

Somewhere Beyond the Sea – TJ Klune

The House in the Cerulean Sea is still one of my favorite books. I was even counting down the days until Somewhere Beyond the Sea released, and my book was delivered on release day. For some reason I keep putting this one off. It’s one I know will be special and I tend to want to save those. Also, I’ve heard some mixed reviews, and that has me not prioritizing this one as well.

House of Flame and Shadow – Sarah J Maas

Like Somewhere Beyond the Sea, House of Flame and Shadow was one of my most anticipated 2024 releases. Especially after how House of Sky and Breath ended. That being said, hyped books always scare me a bit. I do tend to like waiting until the hype decreases a bit before picking up a book. Which seems to be the case with this one.

A Thousand Broken Pieces – Tillie Cole

A Thousand Boy Kisses was a beautiful story, but it had me ugly crying. A Thousand Broken Pieces is about that main character’s sister who is still dealing with grief a few years later and meets a boy also dealing with grief. I have a feeling this will be another emotional read.

A Novel Love Story – Ashley Poston

Ashley Poston writes romances with a tad of magical realism and they’re so much fun. A Novel Love Story is another one I’ve been saving I think. I love the concept and I know I’m going to be sad when it’s over.

Where Sleeping Girls Lie – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

I loved Ace of Spades by this author and was excited about Where Sleeping Girls Lie releasing. I even got my hands on a copy a little bit early and even read the first 50 pages. This book takes place at a boarding school and that’s one of my favorite settings. So I have a feeling I’ll love this one.

The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist – Sophie Gonzales

Sophie Gonzales writes YA contemporary that I seem to love. The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist has a great concept. A fan fiction writer ends up bringing her favorite TV character to life. That sounds like so much fun. I’ve been waiting to read this one, because I want to catch up on her backlist first.

At First Spite – Olivia Dade

Spoiler Alert is one of my favorite books, so I was excited when Olivia Dade announced the start of a new series. This enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance sounds right up my alley. I even own a pretty edition of this book.

Funny Story – Emily Henry

Funny Story is another book I guess that I’ve been saving for the right moment. I also know as soon as I sit down and read this one I’m going to be mad at myself for not picking it up sooner. Funny Story has a fake dating element and that’s one of my favorite tropes.

Honey Cut – Sierra Simone

Salt Kiss was a pleasant surprise after I didn’t love Priest. I will say there were a lot of sexy scenes, but the characters really made this book. Honey Cut is the sequel and I was really excited about it. Again, why haven’t I picked it up?

Daydream – Hannah Grace

Icebreaker and Wildfire are two books I had a lot of fun with. Daydream I think was my most anticipated of the series. I mean our main character loves books and has a book club. How could I not want to read that? There really are just too many books and not enough time.

I’m still surprised I haven’t read these ten books. I was excited about all of them! Have you read any of theses? Or what 2024 releases were you really excited about but haven’t made time to read yet? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
