How is time for us to start talking about 2025 releases?!? The end of the year is always a bit slower with new books, but January tends to be packed! So let’s see what our most anticipated January releases are.
A Sea of Unspoken Things – Adrienne Young (January 7th)
Adrienne Young writes really atmospheric reads and A Sea of Unspoken Sings sounds like another amazing read. In this one a woman investigates her brother’s mysterious death. I wonder if this one will also have some magical realism.
The Lodge – Kayla Olson (January 7th)
I’m actually currently reading an eARC of The Lodge and I’m enjoying it so far. I’d love to be in the penthouse in Vermont our main character is staying at. She’s a ghostwriter and also meets a charming man while trying to write the memoir she’s been hired to finish.
Beg, Borrow, or Steal – Sarah Adams (January 7th)
I wrote a can’t wait wednesday post about this one and I’m excited it’s almost here. Academic rivals to lovers where the main characters are teachers, sign me up!
Adrift in Currents Clean and Clear – Seanan McGuire (January 7th)
I love this series and I can’t believe we’re already at book number 10! While the last couple of books haven’t been my favorite, I’m curious to dive into this one. Our new main character is a Drowned Girl and I’m excited to read about her!
No Place Left to Hide – Megan Lally (January 7th)
This seems like a really fast paced YA thriller and I think it mostly takes place during one night (but also with flashbacks). Someone died at a party our MC threw last year and now she is being stalked and harassed. The early reviews are pretty positive and I’m excited to read this one!
Four Ruined Realms – Mai Corland (January 7th)
Five Broken Blades was quite a surprise for me in 2024 and that ending left me wanting more. I’m so excited that it’s not much longer until I’ll be able to get Four Ruined Realms in my hands. I can’t talk about the synopsis for this one because it’s a sequel!
A Serial Killer’s Guide to Marriage – Asia Mackay (January 14th)
With a title like this you just know I take notice! This is a couple of ex serial killers who moved to the suburbs after getting a baby. But one of them starts killing again and now has to protect their family. It sounds like a ton of fun!
Beautiful Ugly – Alice Feeney (January 14th)
Alice Feeney is becoming a favorite author of mine and I’m so excited about Beautiful Ugly. I actually have an eARC and ALC of this one, so I’ll be reading it really soon. I like going into thrillers blind, so I don’t know much about this one.
The Last Raven – Helen Glynn Jones (January 14th)
The Last Raven is the start of a new fantasy romance series and how can I say no to that? It has royalty and vampires. That’s all I really need to know!
Once Smitten, Twice Shy – Chloe Liese (January 14th)
Chloe Liese caught my attention with the Bergman Brothers and I’ll read anything she writes. I’ve only read the first book in this series, but of course I need to add Once Smitten, Twice Shy to my want to read list.
Accidentally Amy – Lynn Painter (January 14th)
Lynn Painter actually published Accidentally Amy as an indie book, but Berkley has now picked it up. I’m excited about it being released again because we’re getting some bonus material in this story. I won’t say no to that.
Only in Your Dreams – Ellie K. Wilde (January 21st)
Small town sports romances are something I’ve been eating up, so Only in Your Dreams definitely caught my eye. Add the fact that it’s a brother’s best friend romance and I was sold. I have a feeling this one is going to have some heartwarming/emotional moments as well.
Onyx Storm – Rebecca Yarros (January 21st)
One of my most anticipated books of the year! I can’t believe we have to wait only about 4 more weeks. The first two books in the series were quick and enjoyable reads for me and after that cliffhanger I need this one badly!
Out of the Woods – Hannah Bonam-Young (January 28th)
This one sounds so cute! The main couple got married at 19 and after being together for 17 years it seems to all come crashing down. They go on a grueling hiking trip intended to guide couples through rough patches, but they are nature-averse people. Sounds hilarious to me! But also possibly very cute.
So here are our most anticipated releases! Do we have any in common? Are we missing any? Let us know in the comments! We’d love to hear from you.
