We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!
These past two weeks have been full of highs and lows. I have had a massive migraine and haven’t felt great at all. But I also had an amazing team building session with my colleagues in Amsterdam and the best wedding weekend in Minneapolis for my American Bestie. I loved celebrating her love, reconnecting with friends and meeting new people. The next trip overseas is already being planned haha. This past weekend I just had to recover from that ‘quick’ trip to the states haha.
I added one new eARC, The Things We Do To Our Friends. The title drew me in and the synopsis got me to press that request button. It sounds like my kind of book and I have high hopes!
I finished Lair of Dreams and I’m currently reading The Golden Enclaves and The Good Daughter. Both are great and I keep wanting to continue reading them. After that I’m not sure what I’ll pick up. Probably some mysteries as it’s October and those are just the perfect books for this time of year.
You might know that I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes and the Inheritance Games series. If you do, you might understand my excitement about this piece of bookish news. Jennifer Lynn Barnes announced that there will be two more (standalone) stories in this world and with these characters. The first book will be The Brothers Hawthorne and I’m so excited to read another book about them!
I watched a couple of movies (mostly thanks to being on planes for about 17 hours), Top Gun, Top Gun Maverick, Now You See Me and Bullet Train. Top Gun Maverick was amazing and I’m so glad I finally watch it! Now You See Me was a rewatch, I love that movie so much. And I also really enjoyed Bullet Train. It was a bit weird but also a lot of fun haha.
I haven’t been listening to that much music lately, it has mostly been podcasts again. After finishing all my normal episodes, I started listening to a new-to-me true crime podcast; My Favourite Murder. So far I like it a lot and I will definitely make my way through all of their older episodes.
And that was my Royal Update for this week! I hope you had a great week. And I would love to know what you are currently reading, come talk to me in the comments!
